A second person accused Hastert of sexual abuse, official says

dicted former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was paying a former student from Yorkville, Ill., to conceal his alleged sexual abuse of the youth that took place while Hastert was a teacher and wrestling coach at a high school there, federal law enforcement officials said Friday.

A top official, who would not be identified speaking about the federal charges in Chicago, said investigators also spoke with a second person who raised similar allegations that corroborated what the student said.

The second person was not being paid by Hastert, the official said.

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert indicted Federal prosecutors have announced bank-related charges against former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert. The disclosures followed Thursday’s federal indictment against Hastert on suspicion of lying to the FBI about the reasons he made large cash withdrawals, which were allegedly used to buy the man’s silence.

A top federal law enforcement official, who would not be identified speaking about the federal charges, said “Individual A” -- as the unnamed acquittance is described in the indictment -- was a male whom Hastert knew prior to his tenure in Congress.

“It goes back a long way, back to then,” the official said. “It has nothing to do with public corruption or a corruption scandal. Or to his time in office.” Thursday’s indictment described the misconduct “against Individual A” as having “occurred years earlier,” noting that Hastert had known the person “most of Individual A’s life.”

When asked about the nature of Hastert’s alleged misconduct, the law enforcement official said, “It was sex.’’

Hastert has not responded to requests for comment. A representative of the lobbying firm where he had worked, Dickstein Shapiro, declined to comment.

My fault for not writing with better clarity. Of course, anything done to children is more horrific. I was simply making a comparison of the office.

Suspicious activity, which is not defined, must be reported or the bank tellers must be reported.

I think it is fair to look at this from another perspective too. America damned itself. It decided that it was not suited to God. Well, God’s answer to that is “Well, if you INSIST...”

Still desiring, however, that we will realize that we need God’s grace to beat the plethora of ills that we wished on ourselves.

Exactly my point. They make a Law, then they add a Caveat or two which goes way beyond the original intent of the Law.

Why $10,000? Why not $5,000 or $1,000?
Completely ridiculous.

Heck, just report Transactions or more than $20 to cast a wider Net. Better yet, report anyone who doesn’t use an EBT Card.

Now now.

We still have a lot of people who don’t care about gays getting access to kids.

And they will tell you voting third party or write in instead of Mitt Romney was the same as voting for Obama. They love them some pedophilia in the Republican Party, and they are glad they did their part to advance it.

I think there’s a lot of truth in that.

Are you both in the Satan-the-broad-brush-accuser club... there are other reasons, such as ignorance, that could garner such votes (and even MORE so, apathy at the PRIMARY level where a HUGE difference could be made).

We need to start loving HEAVEN again, if we would be spared the dominance of HELL... that’s really all there is to it. And heaven can’t be made out of hell any more than the proverbial silk purse can be out of the sow’s ear.

Add to that the $10,000 limit was set in 1970. Taking that amount out may have been "suspicious" back then, but not today. If anything, the limit should be in today's dollars which would be about $50,000.

If this is true, why didn’t it come up when he first ran for office? Why now, and not then?

But, that was at least 34 years ago. He isn’t being charged with the sex crimes.

Not yet, anyway.

He is being charged with lying to investigators about why he was LEGALLY taking large sums of money out of his account.

He is also charged with 'structuring' the withdrawals to avoid reporting requirements under federal law. Big no-no =>

___________________________________________________________________

If convicted on both counts, he faces as many as 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

I think the Hastert prosecution is more a warning to federal judges hearing cases that interest Obama than it is intended to be a reminder for McConnell, Boehner, et al. The Republican leadership are already thoroughly cowed.

Once the man has got public accusation of some sexual pecadillo and there is a lot of money in his bank account, the abusees will come out of the woodwork with T&F lawyers leading them by the hand. Money smells oh, so alluring!

Now we know why Hastert never did anything to advance a conservative agenda. They let him become speaker knowing they could control him and that goes for most of the other scunbags in the cesspool.

So What. There is a statue of limitation that applies in the court room, just like innocent until proven guilty, in a court room. But out in the streets, these things do not apply. I have no statue of limitations, and I do not have to consider anyone innocent until proven guilty. What is important is did he or didn’t he get all Sandusky with teenaged boys. Logic says he did, I don’t need a trial to confirm this to myself, remember I do not have my own prison system. Nobody gives someone 3.5 million bucks in cash, if he did nothing, I mean nobody. The question that I would like to know is, where does someone get the balls to run for high office knowing he molested teenaged boys. I mean, what could be going through his mind.

Lesson, do not be a pervert. If you keep your hands off teenaged boys and your four year old sister, Slippin Jimmy can never lay a hand on you.

See, this is the problem. Basically, to be a politician, you have to be a deceitful, morally bankrupt, narcissistic p.o.s. Once you accept this basic premise, most of what politicians do starts to make sense...

Few, if any, decent, honorable people have either the desire to associate with, or the ability to effectively compete with, the vile scum that is your average modern day politician.

There is a statue of limitation

That's "statute" there, Kramer.
