Yeah, Rand Paul is fighting for our freedom to not have our telephone records looked at via a warrant if we happen to be involved in terrorist activity. What a hero that guy is.
He’s not saying the govt can’t get a warrant to look at an individual’s phone records and neither am I. What they have no business doing is collecting the phone records of every person in the United States on a daily basis. If the NSA thinks you are a terror threat they can go to a judge just like the cops and get a warrant to tap your phone. Its easy and takes about an hour. This secret FISC court is total BS. Ask yourself why everything is now a secret? secret courts, secret trade bill, secret everything. Its completely unconstitutional.
The government has no business collecting American’s phone data without a warrant. I don’t care if it’s meta-data or whatever they claim.
Citizens have a right against search and seizure without probable cause.
GET A WARRANT.
What we know:
Information on every phone call was (is?) being collected
with a promise (cough cough) that no one will look at it
unless somebody thinks you might be up to something:
callers #;
recipients #;
time call placed;
length of call;
location of caller (via cell tower);
location of recipient (via cell tower).
Many just shrug their shoulders and say,
Well, if you arent doing anything wrong,
then you dont have anything to worry about.
-
OK
Lets put tracking devices in everyones vehicles,
and record where you go, how long you are there,
how fast you drive, how hard you brake, etc.,
with a promise (cough cough) that no one will look at it
unless somebody thinks you might be up to something.
Not a problem?
Well, if you arent doing anything wrong,
then you dont have anything to worry about.
-
How about this?
Lets put a camera in your home and record everything
that goes on and upload it to the cloud,
with a promise (cough cough) that no one will look at it
unless somebody thinks you might be up to something.
Not a problem?
Well, if you arent doing anything wrong,
then you dont have anything to worry about.
