Waco Judge Agrees to Let Most Bikers Go If They Sign Contract Not to Sue for Wrongful Arrest
Washington Weekly News ^ | May 31, 2015 | Looney and Conrad Law Firm

Posted on 06/01/2015 5:57:56 AM PDT by bgill

“It appears the public defenders office in McLennan County is involved in this scurrilous activity,” said Paul Looney, a Houston attorney with Looney & Conrad, P.C. “I’ve never seen anything like the lawlessness that the authorities have perpetrated on these people and now to add insult to injury they are trying to cover their own tracks in exchange for bond.”

Not a single cop was shot, not one. Plus the bikers wounds were headshots and COM shots.

That says it was NOT a gunfight, just a one way shooting range.

Any chance your eyes are opening, if just a tiny bit, to the miscarriage of justice going on there in Waco?

The “started in the bathroom” is being disputed by many that were on the scene. One version is it started over a parking spot and the Banditos SaA shot the first Cassock in the head. Don't know which version is true. Some are saying that the bathroom incident was at a previous event. Also, I have seen that all the bullet holes and the dead and wounded were outside the building. If true then the parking space story makes more sense. Like you say - sooner or later it will all come out.

I am appalled that someone’s FREEDOM is being linked to signing a waiver promising NOT to sue for WRONG DOINGS! Want to get out of jail? Then sign a waiver. Disgusting. I hope every civil litigation lawyer out there is trying to reach out to the families.

I don’t believe any of this was by some unforeseen event, it was planned.

I think they planned to be able to wipe out the bikers, but I don't think they planned to do so.

Excellent insightful legal analysis.

Taken a step further, those arrested are being forced to sign an agreement not to sue... by a judge in order for law enforcement to move past this incident which is still lingering.

First, those signing the agreement to be release are not bound nor are they precluded from eventually challenging the order in the court system.

A good legal team probably could represent those arrested by demanding the judge be sequestered, and questioned as to his connection in this case, e.g., did he sign the warrants or was he involved in any other aspects of this case behind the scenes in support of law enforcement/USG? The USG and law enforcement organizations can be asked to explain why they were given the authorizations, in detail, to infiltrate the bikers? Was it just to keep tabs, say like the broad purpose of the NSA spying on Americans, or was it specific to murders, drug trafficking, money laundering, prostitution, tax evasions, etc. Maybe the purpose was to keep tabs on people who might actually be conservative as opposed to liberals - somehow Hollywood always portrays bikers as right wing types but it seems more likely they fit the hippy-mode better.

Once the shooting started, it must be assumed that the government will be protected since they were most likely federal agencies (however, if they were local police the question arises if "Biker's Lives Matters?" and if the actions of law enforcement will be challenged over bikers the way the black community challenges)....

I said several days ago, “Can’t people smell a PAYDAY?” Now, I do not get any satisfaction from contemplating the massive damage LE may suffer. But, they brought it down upon themselves.

They could still get in front of the mess by telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

The truth will come out.

Never when the government is involved.

Contracts of a coercive nature are not binding.

“Sign over your water rights to me or I’ll shoot you and your family and burn down your ranch”, went out of vogue a long time ago.

“I do not get any satisfaction from contemplating the massive damage LE may suffer”

Unfortunately, Don.. we live in a society that only learns what is wrong if there are financial consequences. If LE is able to get off scot free.. minus a bit of “bad press” then they will continue to do things like this. This time it was the bikers.. next time it will be another group. Out of the 170, how many have lost their jobs? Had to leave their families? The families had to pay for legal expenses? My point is that their freedom to leave is still being held up by the “contract”.

We have been expecting this. I mentioned I have been very troubled and have the spread sheet ready for entries.

This is a Texas attorney representing Texas clients.

Calling people names did not make it happen any sooner. ; )

Seems to me that could easily be broken since it would be signed under duress and not in the public interest. In fact, so coercive as to add to the final jury award once the nonsense is swept aside. And misconduct charges for the berk who thought up the concept.

“Almost all of the dead or killed by head and neck single shots.”

Most of the wounded were shot but some also had knife wounds.

Meanwhile three of those arrested have already been given reduced bonds and released without any histrionics from their attorney....go figure.
