Irony, both that Cummings was one of those defending those defending Baltimore rioters as a "few bad apples" and that it could happen anywhere (anywhere apparently was through his ground floor window), and in front of a poster for the Savior that was to change race relations for the better.

The home of Congressman Elijah Cummings of Baltimore caught fire this morning. Cummings was in Washington at the time of the fire.
"I was in a Transportation Committee hearing when I learned about the fire at my house in Baltimore," Cummings reportedly told the press in a statement. "The fire started on the third floor of the house and the Fire Department is investigating the cause. Thankfully, no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. I am grateful to all of those who have expressed their concern."
"When things like this happen I do not ask the question, 'why did it happen to me?' I ask the question, 'Why did it happen for me,'" Cummings said. "There's something to be gained from this. I don't know what it is yet.

Pretty ironic from one standpoint but it’s sad his $2m Renior and $10m Van Gogh were lost. Good thing he insured them the night before.
Elijah is probly kicking himself in the ass for missing an opportunity to blame this "attack" on The Tea Party, Bush, the cops or any other number of usual suspects.
