CNN panel on Caitlyn Jenner got pretty heated tonight after Crystal Wright said she wasn’t impressed with Jenner’s publicity-heavy gender transition.
Transgender reporter Zoey Tur wasn’t impressed with how Jenner’s transition looks like the “rollout of a product,” but Wright went a lot further, saying, “Bruce Jenner is doing this from Bruce Jenner… I don’t think it’s good for the transgender community.”
“What’s next?” she asked. “Black people, we’re going to all of a sudden start bleaching our skin because we don’t like being black?”
She got heated with Tur, Don Lemon, and Perez Hilton as she argued, “Real courage is not trying to make money, millions of dollars off of coming out.”
In the second segment, Tur scolded Wright––calling her “obviously a narcissist” for conflating the totality of gender transition with “publicity-seeking behavior.” Wright said she knows someone going through this same issue, and finds the calculated nature of Jenner’s transition “repugnant.”

Bruce Jenner described himself as such - still having male genitalia - a couple of days ago. I suspect it was publicity he craved, and I do not know what he will do next.

I think some white actors who feel like their “black” should start bringing out the shoe polish, and doing the Al Jolson and Eddie Cantor bit. Have a stand-up comedian come out in blackface and do a routine. “Yes Sir, Mr. Bones!”

An excellent point. There is far less biological difference between melanin levels in skin than between male and female. If gender is a "self identification" then so has to be race.
That would, though, completely upset the race industry.
He’s doing this entirely for himself, publicity for upcoming “entertainment” shows. He’s not undergoing surgery, he’s still going to date women (no, this doesn’t make him a transgender lesbian), and odds are he will, before long, decide to revert after the publicity and its money train run dry.

I agree and am tired of seeing this crap on FR. For some reason though, there are a number of Freepers who are drawn to gay / lesbian / transgender threads. Maybe they're from San Francisco.
Transgender reporter Zoey Tur is simply jealous that Bruce Jenner is on the cusp of becoming one of highest (or, very possibly, THE highest) earning women in the world. And Bruce may well end up being one of the wealthiest women in the world.
