Slap him. Just slap him hard.

I was no 'dummy' (straight A student) and I never 'got' the metric system. You didn't understand multiples of ten?

Celsius may be good for science but it’s horrible for weather, the degrees are too big and range of human-relevant temperature is too narrow.
“Fahrenheit:
100 degrees, you’re very hot.
20 degrees, you’re cold.
0 degrees, you’re very cold.
Celsius:
100 degrees, you’re dead.
20 degrees, you’re comfortable
0 degrees, you’re kinda cold.”
And don’t think the democrat base would like this either, today’s America isn’t smart enough to handle a mass change of units of measure.
No one would ever know how heavy/long/hot something was without converting on their smart phones. Ridiculous. Fantasy of ivory tower libtards.
I’ve noticed Ron Gunzberger of Politics1.com always calls him “Linc” Chaffee. I think he’s in love.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea actually. Most of the rest of the world uses the Metric system.
Maybe my viewpoint is skewed coming from a scientific background, but it sucked having to learn a new system from scratch.
I think being taugh both the English and ametric systems, call it “bilingual” would be a good development.

Thanks Impy.
Here are the hopefuls, by party, some have declared, there may be some I've forgotten to list, I've boldfaced my two (and only two) favorites and put strikes through the unacceptable candidates (that could grow):
Pubbies (seven declared, up to four more within a week or so):
- Ben Carson [declared]
- Bobby Jindal (gov of LA)
- Carly Fiorina [declared]
Chris Christie (gov of NJ) Donald Trump- George Pataki
Jeb Bush- John Kasich (gov of OH)
Lindsey Graham [declared] - Marco Rubio [declared]
Mike Huckabee [declared] Peter KingRick Perry [declared] Rick Santorum- Sarah Palin
- Scott Walker
- Ted Cruz [declared]
other possible candidates:
- Brian Sandoval
- Jim Gilmore
- Kelly Ayotte
- Mike Pence
- Mitch Daniels
- Nikki Haley (gov of SC)
- Susana Martinez (gov of NM)
|
Here are some combos that make sense to me at this time:
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Donald Trump
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Carly Fiorina
- Ted Cruz, with running mate John Kasich
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Peter King
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Ben Carson
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Mike Huckabee
- Scott Walker, with running mate Susana Martinez

- Scott Walker, with running mate Brian Sandoval

I love the metric measurements system and use it all the time in my day to day work.
To learn to use it is very simple........ throw away your anglo rules and tapes and buy metric rules and tapes

What was the point of the guinea ? A guinea was a gold coin containing one quarter ounce of gold. It was orignially worth 1 pound sterling, or 20 shillings. Howeve rthe value tended to fluctuate with the value of gold; it hit 30 shillings at times. Finally the the value was just fixed at 21 shillings...just because the British have to do things differently from time to time. It was pulled from circulation in 1816 when they re-did all the coinage.

I grew up with pounds, shillings and pence. Canada's been on dollars and cents since the 1800's, and Great Britain went decimal long before my first time in the country. I remember we used to occasionally get shilling coins in our change but that was like a five cent piece, only it was 5P.
