Jill Dillard: "They're used to exploiting women."
In an interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly that ran on Friday, two of the Duggar daughters who were victims of their brother’s inappropriate sexual touching called out the magazine that illegally released the records that not only revealed the identity of their brother Josh (who was a juvenile at the time), but also indirectly identified the victims.
Jill Dillard, the second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, told Kelly that she suspected there might be an agenda behind the story. “I mean, I know that the tabloids that released this, even have — you know, they’re used to exploiting women. They have the parent company –”
“Well, Bauer…they’re a major porn provider…” her sister Jessa Seewald interrupted.
“So I don’t know if they are — maybe their mindset, they’re just used to making objects out of women and maybe we just didn’t seem any different,” Seewald continued.
Jill and Jessa are members of the conservative Christian family that has been featured in the reality TV series 19 Kids and Counting, and the young women are spot on about the background of the company that publishes In Touch magazine.
Bauer Media Group, based in Hamburg, Germany, publishes 600 magazines, over 400 digital products, and 50 radio and TV stations around the world, including In Touch magazine, the publication that uncovered the story of the abuse in the Duggar home. They also traffic in porn — some of it Nazi-themed., as you’ll see on the next page.

These lend perspective to Bauer’s legal woes in the United States, including a $50 million defamation lawsuit by Tom Cruise, filed last October after two U.S.-based publications alleged he’d abandoned his daughter Suri. In fact, Bauer generates dozens of legal complaints worldwide each year about invasion of privacy or libel, according to a lawyer who has frequently opposed them.
The Duggar sisters are absolutely correct. In Touch and Bauer Media Group make money, in part, by exploiting women and trafficking in content that sexually objectifies women. The young women in the Duggar family who were victims of sexual abuse by their brother were victimized a second time by a magazine that treated them, not as accidental collateral damage in their honest efforts to report a legitimate news story, but as an integral part of a business model based on sexual exploitation of women. They exploited the sexual abuse suffered by the Duggar sisters for money, pure and simple. And they’ve done it with countless other women over the years. Disgusting.
Actually I think the two daughters I saw all beautiful and expecting and very articulate and sincere were wonderful

All the people salivating for Josh Duggar’s head don’t care about the girls they are now hurting. They are too busy throwing those rocks at the family and gleefully cheering and egging each other on.

yeah, I watched it too, and he said it every time he was asked about it. The way I see it, he is entitled to his opinion and we are entitled to ours/ I don’t care if he is a shrink or not.

OK....but you should NOT have implied he agrees with incest......I clearly understood he didn’t.
But that’s what you and many others are implying or downright saying on these threads.
If anyone gives the least defense of the Duggars parenting skills, they are labled all kinds of hideousness and discredited.

How do you deduce that? What evidence was there that they “condoned? This was a witch hunt from day one from a “porn company” that can’t stand the criticism coming from Christians. They needed to be shut down; and Bauer did just that.
I have to ask, have you ever watched any episodes of the Duggars TV show? I have...as my 20 something daughter and my 50 something good friend both were hooked on it so I started to watch. I’ve probably seen 3/4s of all there shows (somehow I missed the now infamous mini golf embarrassment). But I’ve watched enough to formulate my opinions now based on what I saw get thru the editing process and make it to air.
At times (remember all this is after editing, and the shows are, like Duck Dynasty, soft scripted) there was just a general weirdness (that I dismissed or changed channel on) from JimBob...what could be endearing nerdiness, at times was just awkward and out rift weird. I saw Josh as JimBobs “mini-me” except he seemed to wield more authority (a Gothard thing?) as oldest male child than did Michelle. She MANY times seemed to defer or rely upon Josh in an odd sort of way.
I really wanted to believe the family was as it appeared to be on tv. But having watched (for harmless entertainment and having my instincts tell me what I was watching what it was cracked up to be) I feel I can add my two cents...
I agree with you on the media, but the Duggars (starting with the TV show within a few years of Josh’s “ problems”) sure didn’t exercise the best judgment for the family. I can’t help but think (again going to timing) that Josh was kept in the home and things were glossed over as the TLC contract was being negotiated. Ultimately, you can’t invite the media in for thousands of hours of film of your family and the cry “privacy” violations when things don’t work out as the family had planned.

It is typical for deeply disturbed deviants to attack others guilty (usually in a minor way) of their own sickness. The more virulent the attack the more obvious their own subterfuge. The good Dr harping on pedophilia (where none, by definition, exists) is a perfect case in point.
