The deployment of deadly force is always one of great consideration and yes, can have equal and opposite reactions.

The best advice of all: Don’t insult people who you do not know. I is rude, uncalled for, and may have dire consequences.

I am not in the habit of insulting people. At least, not deliberately. I cannot control what some hypersensitive professionally offended person will find insulting.

I am not in the habit of assaulting rude people. I reserve lethal force (and that's really the only kind I'm interested in) for those who pose a threat of death or grave bodily harm.

I disagree about the "best" part above. Here is even better advice: Don't resort to violence at every perceived slight or insult. It's criminal, uncalled for, and is almost guaranteed to have dire consequences.

I used to live fairly close to Washington, DC. At the time, I regularly read the 'local' crime reports. Ghetto culture is characterized by resort to lethal violence over the slightest perceived 'disrespect'. Apparently, those folks have no self-respect.
