His seven-point plan includes:

parenting workshops,

strict enforcement of curfew laws,

expansion of drug courts and other therapeutic court models,

broader use of sheriff’s deputies in high-crime areas,

stiffer penalties for people illegally in possession of firearms, and an expansion of gun buy-back programs, and

job training and a real jobs program for areas with high levels of violence, unemployment and poverty.

Some of these make sense, except they’re nothing new and liberal politicians have been doing this stuff for a long time... they don’t know how to effectively administer programs such as these. Now, we have criminals walking around with dozens of arrests on their rap sheets and they have no fear that anything serious will ever happen to them if they continue down a path of crime.

The to do list reads like a list of things which are completely ineffective. It looks foolish to those of us in the Red areas.

Already been done, and it doesn’t work. We are where we are today because people have done the same stuff they outlined. It doesn’t work.

Go after the violent criminals. Lock them up and no early releases. Don’t plea bargain out the armed felon charges (like they always do) on violent offenders. Shoot the bastards if they resist arrest and save us all time and money.
Get law abiding folks interested in being armed law abiding citizens. Let them know officers are desirous to have good people in the community that do not want to be victims/statistics.

We already have a job training program it’s called High School.

Many can't even read on a third grade level and I know, from my wife's experience at hiring people for a large company, that many more cannot pass a drug test.

Then who is to say they would do any better in a "jobs training program" which would essentially have to be remedial high school.

I take it you went to one of these high schools, yes?

Gotta' love it when people use the broad brush of generalization when making knee-jerk comments...

Given that the observation came from a teacher and what happened in scott walker’s state it seems very appropriate.

Yeah, no generalization there. Believe it or not, not ALL teachers fall under the breadth of your brush stroke...

‘...job training and a real jobs program for areas with high levels of violence, unemployment and poverty.’

Yeah, that’s right - people break the law, so throw more, more, MORE taxpayer money at ‘em.

Conservative Answer to Gun Violence:

All good things but it all comes down to one basic fact of life.

If you don’t work you don’t eat

If unmarried mothers were homeless and watched their children starving because they had no fathers to provide for their children unwed mothers would soon become a rarity.

The only reason that single mothers are a growing phenomenon is because Aid to Dependent Children (or whatever it is called today) is available.

Government redistribution of wealth is destroying the family and by extension our society.
