Transgender people should use bathroom of gender they identify as, U.S. government urges

The federal government is strongly urging employers to give transgender employees access to bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity, marking a new policy front in the fast-moving campaign for transgender equality.

In a four-page Guide to Restroom Access for Transgender Workers, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration advises employers on “Best Practices” concerning restroom access for these employees: “… It is essential for employees to be able to work in a manner consistent with how they live the rest of their daily lives, based on their gender identity,” the guide says.

“Restricting employees to using only restrooms that are not consistent with their gender identity, or segregating them from other workers by requiring them to use gender-neutral or other specific restrooms, singles those employees out and may make them fear for their physical safety,” OSHA, an arm of the Labor Department wrote, posting the guide on its Web site last week.

In some workplaces, “questions can arise… about which facilities certain employees can use,” OSHA said, then explained that someone’s “internal gender identity” may be different from the sex they were assigned at birth. “A person who identifies as a man should be permitted to use men’s bathrooms, and a person who identifies as a woman should be permitted to use women’s restrooms.”

Bathroom segregation along the sex lines is not for personal pride. It’s for protection of women from harassment by men.

This is insane. If I am ever at any commercial establishment. Resturant, store, or whatever and a transgender comes in. That will be my last time at that establishment and I will write emails to all the members of the cooporate board and never use thier product again.

I made this same point to some neighbors at our weekly breakfast yesterday. American Society has its eyes off the ball. We have a host of existential threats lurking against us and people are fascinated beyond distraction with this freak. As you say...a sure sign.

I’m am so tired of seeing this crap....fine you don’t want to be a woman, but keep it inside your walls, you don’t have to bring your dirty laundry to the public square and wash it....

Please reference the Planet Fitness case, where a woman complained about a ‘transgendered woman’ using the ladies locker room. The complainant was banned from the club. This Admin has made EVERYTHING political and has packed the courts with their adherents. Good luck with any lawsuit against a Leftist ‘protected minority’.

I am thinking a lot of teenage boys will go to Ross and buy dresses just so they can check out the girls bathrooms. I mean, I don’t have a problem with Bruce/Caitlyn using the boys bathroom. I think many women will have an issue with him using the women’s bathroom.
