My very favorite. Ordered a box right before Christmas, and I am down to the last two bars.
San Antonio would be a tough market for them to come into. HEB is king here and has chased other national chains away, much poorer.
I like Aldi for some things but have been wary of the meat. Not sure whether that’s justified or not.
Out of curiosity, where do you get your meat online? And how is it delivered?
Aldi owns Trader Joes......We bought some great French wine in the Aldi in Copenhagen!!!
Ahhhh... we lived in Chino Hills almost 30 years ago!! PIONEERS!!
I’d like to know if their product formulation is the same nationwide. Does the ketchup all come from the same vendor and shipped to all stores or are they sourced from local companies under contract. I’ve found quality and flavor changes sometimes in both directions. I use to buy their instant coffee because it was cheap. A couple years back it changed to cheap but tasted much better.
Aldi....AL brecht DI scount. Good for the Germans!!
What is the quality like? I never recognize any of the brands in their ads.
Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s are separate companies.
When times are tough, thank goodness for Aldi’s.
Keep our belly’s full at a price we could afford.
May get another group before much longer.

Lidl, a German-based discount grocery chain with 10,000 stores in Europe,
is likely to expand into the U.S. market by 2015, according to Supermarket News.
..that the company will use a copycat strategy in the U.S., patterning
its growth on what Aldi has done.

The one thing that has occasionally left me somewhat bewildered is that this is a German store, serving a community of primarily German ancestry and on occasion there is no sauerkraut, wienkraut, or sweet and sour red cabbage to be found in the store.
That just seems like one of those things that cant be true. I wonder how much revenue that mistake must cost locally.
If you like rare steaks then you probably prefer horse and don’t even know it. We really need to find a way to offer it in the US.
We just got a new Aldi down the street. Its great.
I wouldnt willingly eat horse meat.
By hey why stop at horses...dogs and cats are meat too...
I shopped in Aldi’s today. Their pork chops always taste FRESH. Maybe because of they way they are packed. Also I got a couple of pounds of Vidalia onions for just a buck. I did see a bottle of Agave nectar. Agave is the plant from which they make Tequila but what is the nectar for?
I love Aldi, I buy at least 50% of my groceries there, usually the price beats all but the very best sales (the types where they limit quantities.) at the other stores,
But except for when the meat is getting close to sell-by and gets discounted, i find it never is as cheap as the Walmart.
Whole turkeys for thanksgiving. Aldis was $1.19/lb, Walmart had them for $0.88/lb
Ground beef is also cheaper at Walmart, and they have a taco or Italian ground turkey 1lb frozen tubes for $1.50 at Walmart, nothing anywhere is ever near that price. Very good in spaghetti.
But my wife loves cheese, and I love pizza and the 1lb bags for 2.99 at Aldis are the best deal in the store. It keeps us out of the poorhouse.
That’s exactly how I feel about Walmart’s meats. Leary. I do love our WINCO here in AZ. Great produce!
