They moved into a small old food store in a run down strip mall a number of years ago.
Place is crowded all the time it’s open. They opened another one on the south side of town and are building a brand new one on my side.
Had a good deal on thick cut bacon today.
I know marriage in sacred and all but cmon, does she really love you if she takes away your chips? Just sayin’
Is Lucky still around? When I was in the navy I bought a big bottle of Lucky vodka for a couple of bucks and took it back to the barracks to drink it. Open bay barracks back then. It turned into a big party that ended up being shut down by the base police. Cheapest vodka I ever found.
HUH?????
Id say based on my own experience that your observation holds across line after line. Their Clancys brand potato chips are better than Lays, they have a Pecan Sandy alternative that doesnt taste exactly the same as a pecan sandy, but is still pretty durn good, their Clancys microwave popcorn is easily better than Orville Redenbaker (at least to my taste) - and all of this at less than 40% of the name brand price. I shop there every week.
A lot of people swear by Aldi’s. Originally very German. You could get good cutlery and bratwurst at low prices. They used to be known for these and also the generic foods in the white and black packaging back in the early 80’s.
Another Aldi snob. HA! Please stay away. LOL @ you.
Dunno. Trader Joe and his family sold out.
I don’t know enough about Aldis.
Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s are owned by German brothers; Aldi’s the less expensive, like requiring a deposit on carts (you tend to return them if you wan your money back, plus they don’t have to pay someone to round them up from their parking lots), Trader Joe’s, more frills.
I swear by Aldi. You cannot judge a book by its cover or one or 2 pages — it takes time. Once you’re hooked on the fabulous prices and recognize the quality, that’s it.
They have great prices and the meats are very good and reasonably priced. Wish they would open stores in Phoenix.
They are a no frills grocery store. They sell groceries at a very affordable price.
Too bad.
I used to shop Aldi’s many many years ago, because of the low prices. Now, I shop there for the quality and price. They have produce that rivals our “premium” store. Much of their equivalent type stuff like mayonnaise is just as good as Helman’s. We paid $1.89 at Aldi’s, $4.79 at our local store for Helman’s. Just as good!
Real black forest smoked ham, knockwurst, smoked sausages, braunschweiger, all imported from Germany.
For me, what’s not to like about Aldi’s?
...and the cashiers are St. Pauli girls, right? ;-)
Always our first stop when grocery shopping is Aldi. What we can’t get at Aldi, we get from another grocer, but 80% comes from Aldi.
I can’t think of anything I’ve been disappointed in (caveat...we do not buy our meat there, we buy our meat online, and their produce used to be so-so, but it’s now pretty decent.)
Also their “stuff” (non grocery items) sells for unbelievably low prices. We bought sturdy trash bins for our patio and paid $35, saw them later at Walmart for $60 and online at Amazon for close to $80. I’ve noticed their ads are including more “stuff” along with the groceries.
A Trader Joe’s just opened up in our town, we’ve had Aldis for several years. I believe they’re owned by the same family, but there are different divisions of the company. We took a stroll through Trader Joe’s, and we much prefer Aldi.
And Cleveland and Detroit and Chicago and etc.
In fact, you can write off just about any city where the RATS have ruled for the last 20 years.
