The man who wrote this article is wrong.
Cruz has explained his positions in all important areas including, in detail, the TPA trade bill and the secret TPP bill. Regarding the TPP secret bill, he has read it and it will be public for 60 days before they vote on it. That info. is at the approximate 50 minute point in his speech in Mass.
I urge everyone to listen to his very long speech and answering audience questions. You will know exactly where he stands on every important issue. Here is the link:

Wait until you listen to HIM before you dump him based on trashy reporting.
Sen. Cruz wants TPA in force when he assumes office in 2017. This is the only way he can get it, since Democrat senators would filibuster a TPA when he is President. For this, Sen Cruz is willing to forgo the ability to filibuster Obama trade agreements, allowing them to pass with fifty votes plus Biden. The danger is that the immigration provisions in TiSA and some troublesome aspects of TPP might pass by a simple majority this Fall. If Obama thinks that these provisions won’t pass, he could veto TPA or signal Democrats to vote it down in either House. Sen. Cruz is willing to take the TiSA/TPP risk if he can get TPA while he is in office and obviously thinks that the risk is manageable. Cruz and Obama are playing poker. Sen. Cruz doesn’t want to show his hand until TPA is, in his mind hopefully, passed. Only Sen. Warren is sounding the alarm on the Democrat side. Sen. Cruz does not want to add fuel to the fire by engaging on the issue. That is why Sen. Cruz is driving some of his supporters to distraction by refusing to address the issue. He is also temporarily losing conservative bloodhounds like Matt Boyle at Breitbart who are just dong their job by demanding answers.
one can’t trust a politician even the ones who can articulate Conservatism brilliantly. Actions matter, words are just hot air.
Just reading comments here and what i see is if Cruz is lying he’s tossing away his one hope which is the conservative base.
Thats basically what this comes down to. It’s not whether he can beat Hillary but can he win a few primaries early and stay in the race and by comments here he may as well save his energy. From what i see here the answer is stay home Ted.
For myself i despise the secrecy and i despise the very thought of giving Obama a free hand to do anything since he’s done so little right. I also never fully trust a politician. Their job definition may as well be professional liar.
Still i find it hard to believe Cruz throws his chances away this early. Nobody can promise him anything that equated to the office of the President. It makes no sense at all.
I’ll believe Jeff Sessions on this one. The last American patriot in Congress.
Typical Senator after all.
Cruz has made a bad mistake. Siding with Obama on this trade bill says it all.
I am taking notes and watching this so called Congress. Most of them are no better than our illustrious leader in the White House. They are bought and paid for by entities that have no resemblance to the people who elected them.
I am very disappointed that Cruz chose this path. But, I am glad I found out early on in this process. No vote from me (or money).
Ted, don’t make me change my tagline.
I knew that many FReepers, given time, would begin turning on Cruz.
Isn’t it interesting that those who castigated those of us who voted for Romney in 2012, are now having a hissy fit that some are beginning to disown Cruz and may not vote for him. I guess staying home, not voting, and having a pity party when your candidate doesn’t win the primary is only noble for those who had issues with Romney. Any scrutiny of Cruz is off limits.
You folks who stayed home in 2012 set a precedence: If your guy doesn’t win...stay home!
Cry us a river.
Can Cruz explain why we are not allowed to see the bill?
IMO, for 2016, it’s either Cruz or nobody. At the moment,I’m leaning toward nobody.
SIGH.
If the Bill is so great why don’t they debate it in open?
Cruz get off the pot and READ the f’n bill, before you vote on it!! You would think by now, after watching Obama for 7 years, they’d be leery of anything the commie pushes.
Cruz is an outsourcing HB sell out. They all suck. Hello President Clinton.
Sometimes things in politics are pretty simple. In this case they’re incredibly simple. Ted Cruz had a choice: stand with the middle class or with the globalists. He chose the globalists. The only thing that is unusual is that it’s coming back to bite him. So, he’s doing what political hustlers have been doing since time immemorial: trying to spin it.
The sad fact is that whether we elect a Republican or Hillary, we will have a crony capitalist in the White House who will always serve his or her corporate masters.
A Republican would agree with us on more issues, but the big money boys will still own our political class. Little will have changed.
So, Senator Jeff Sessions, who has seen these deals in the cloak and dagger back room with guards, is confused by the ‘internet’ when he says it is a terrible deal?
I’d say that we need to go slow on this since they have not made available many details. I’d also say that no one should vote on something when they don’t know the details. We have too much of that going on already.
Sure, Cruz responded. “There is a lot of confusion and, unfortunately, a lot of misinformation you can get on the Internet that people are confused, so let's explain what each of those three are.
TPA is Trade Promotion Authority, its also known as fast track, Cruz continued in his answer on Hewitt's program. That is the process through which free trade agreements are negotiated. Historically, since FDR virtually every president has had fast track authority. What fast track provides is simply if a free trade agreement is negotiated, that Congress will vote on it up or down without amendments, and history has demonstrated for the last 80 years that the only way to get free trade agreements adopted is to have fast track. That if there is no fast track, free trade agreements do not end up being negotiated.
Now there is a second issue which has caused a great deal of confusion, and that is TPP, Cruz said.
Trans Pacific Partnership, Hewitt interjected.
Correct, Cruz continued. That is one specific trade deal that is currently being negotiated. It is separate from TPA. Congress has not voted on TPP, and theres a great deal of concern about TPP. Now, I have not voted on TPP, and I havent decided if I will support it or not, because the negotiation isnt complete, and Im going to wait and review and see what the agreement is first before assessing if it would be beneficial or harmful.
I say lets see who votes for the agreement in a site unseen fashion. The key here question here is who is stupid enough to vote for a law that they have not read? It will be political suicide for any Republican candidate to do that.
