5 Reasons Free Traders Should Oppose Obamatrade
Breitbart.com ^ | 11 Jun 2015 | Ben Shapiro

The debate over whether Congress should grant President Obama fast track authority to negotiate the Trans-Pacific Partnership and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreements has now been reduced down to a false choice between free trade and protectionism.

...

It is dishonest for Ryan and others to paint a stark – and false – dichotomy on fast track authority. In fact, there are several good reasons for those of us who are ardently pro-free trade to oppose fast track authority.

The Crap Sandwich. Every few months, Republicans cave to Democrats while claiming to their constituency that they had no choice. Republicans fully funded both Obamacare and President Obama’s executive amnesty on the grounds that an omnibus package including Department of Homeland Security funding would die, endangering the nation, if they didn’t give Obama what he wanted. Omnibus packages are the enemy of good policy.

Yet that’s precisely what fast track authority incentivizes. Without fast track authority, as I wrote earlier this week, the president would have to negotiate with foreign nations while keeping Congress constantly updated. Congress’ input would be consistent and effective, since even a single amendment could kill a bill. Any trade agreement would have to be truly bipartisan in today’s political world.

But fast track authority allows the president to negotiate a crap sandwich: an agreement with certain good provisions and some bad provisions. Republicans, pushing the free trade agenda, then sign off on the crap sandwich.

It is a difht between the New Media and the Old Media in terms of pooling talent for business.

Big blood thirsty corps like Disney push for this global ability to reach and pool talent for itself worldwide, while it would undermine with copyright infringment suits people doing Utube videos, the very videos of fundamental culture disney steals for making its own Products.

If tomorrow a sort of open source media cartoon making company made of youtubers sharing fame gains through charms and networking, and not some CEO redistributive of benefits, mworked out, you would see these people violating antitrust legislations suing them left and right for copyrights.

This is what is at stakes.

The word “Globalization” is a fraud, because it is not universal nor free trade, it is a hostile take over of a pool of talented workers who have no right of free speech in their home countries. Disney, JnJ et al. Are doing that. They know these people have no other choices to go other than these big corps because at home they do not have the freedom to Youtube or blogout their business.

It is not globalization, mit is pooling a global “sport team” from potential players. It is elitlist driven and forcing people into the mortgage business.

Essentially, you must either believe that Obama is negotiating in America’s best interests, or you must believe that Congress has Obama firmly under it’s heel.

Which is it?

False dilemma!

Congress, as stated by multiple people, including Ted Cruz, will have more control over the TPP process and there will be increased visibility with the new TPA.

This could have been the greatest deal on the planet, but not being transparent with the American people. Locking this agreement just increased distrust in congress.

Just post the damn thing.

No trade deal is good for America. Pre 1950 we were self sufficient. We need to get back to that.

I agree. We produce superior products/processes and the world will run to us.
