This issue is very simple to understand. If Obama is for it, then it is certainly bad for America. All you need to know.

“You do realize that TPP negotiations started in 2005 under some guy named Bush?”

And they are being concluded under the guy who negotiated the Iranian nuclear deal and Obamacare. There hasn’t been a trustworthy president since Reagan.

Right. Vote for a Senator. If Cruz really wanted to be President, he should have started by publically resigning from and repudiating that sewer.

It’s interesting to see the remarks of Gerald Ford on signing the first ‘fast track’ bill:
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=4849

And Of President Reagan on signing the 1984 ‘fast track’ bill:
http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/speeches/1984/103084c.htm

Until NAFTA ‘fast track’ probably did more good than harm.
Since then nothing but loss seems to have come from it.

Can you site the court ruling?
I’ve found nothing!

“Fast Track should be unconstitutional. But the SCOTUS agreed that Congress can re-define trade agreements as separate from treaties, allowing them to write their own rules for approval.”

So, these trade agreements really are Constitutional?

True, but I don’t know that we can wait for another Reagan to complete trade agreements.

As usual you have hit the nail on the head. While I am a free trade kind of old guy it is evident that our leaders negotiate as well as they enforce borders.

The data is clear. These agreements result in lower GDP, lower wages, higher trade deficits and vast increases in legal and illegal immigrants.

Fast track is neither unconstitutional or an inherently bad thing. Depends on the negotiator. The present negotiator needs to be given fast track authority like I need another 10 years added to my age.

Gosh, are we not trading now? What about GATT and NAFTA? And, have those been good for the US?

This looks like it explains the trade deals better than anything else but unfortunately, you can’t read the whole thing without subscribing to WSJ! Guess I’ll have to keep looking for better explanations somewhere else.

Contrary to those who still admire Pat Buchanan still believe, trade is good for the US.

“trade is good for the US.”

Trade is good. Ceding our sovereignty to foreign courts in the service of trade is bad.

Now let's really take a close look at HOW the Trans-Pacific Partnership was passed. (It took me a long time to track it down.)

Now look at HOW TED CRUZ VOTED on THAT VOTE.

So EVEN THOUGH the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" attached this UNPOPULAR BILL to another Bill titled "Defending Public Safety Employees' Retirement Act", hoping that Senators would FEAR

TED CRUZ
voted
AGAINST TPP !

Trump and Rubio supports are RARELY HONEST.

TED CRUZ voted AGAINST TPP !

You can scream it, shout it and write in big fonts but when it counted Ted Cruz was the biggest cheer leader for TPA and TPP in the Senate. He even wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal urging passage of TPA and TPP. He only flip flopped on it when got a hurricane of blow back from the voters. His flip flop was the biggest since "read my lips" HW Bushs' flip flop on taxes.

You NEED to see a Psychiatrist !

You can NOT COMPREHEND, can you ?
CAN YOU NOT READ THE WORDS "Fast Track Authority" ?

Okay, FOR THE EXTREMELY DENSE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO RESEARCH ON TERMS:
