IRS Finds 6,400 New Lois Lerner Emails…Gives DUMBEST EXCUSE YET For Not Releasing Them

The Internal Revenue Service found 6,400 more Lois Lerner emails — but they’re not handing them over in court.

The IRS’ latest excuses are nothing short of infuriating.

Department of Justice lawyers Geoffrey J. Klimas and Stephanie Sasarak, acting as counsel for the IRS, submitted a U.S. District Court filing June 12 in the case Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service. The court filing, provided to The Daily Caller, claims the IRS received new Lerner emails from the Treasury Department’s inspector general (TIGTA) but can’t fork over the emails to Judicial Watch, a nonprofit group suing to get the emails. Why? Because the IRS is busy making sure that none of the emails are duplicates – you know, so as not to waste anyone’s time.

It’s time to put some of these clowns in prison.

Maybe we could just ask the Chinese to send them over. They seem to have everything else.

I don’t even think a regime change could make a dent in some of the agencies within this government that are completely out of control. The IRS, ATF, TSA, DHS, NSA, FBI, State Department, EPA, OSHA, Department of Justice and so on.

Obama’s White House is shockingly, disgustingly corrupt and evil. The media have made their position clear as they protect “the most transparent administration in history”, and the republican insiders long ago made it clear that they will let anything slide until January of 2017.

I pray that Cruz or Walker will take control of our government in 19 months and will repeal every law, executive order, and administrative ruling from these eight terrible years, and then roll back other liberal encroachments on our freedom. FedGov is suffering from mission creep and needs to be trimmed back. I’d like to see FedGov slashed by 50%, but I’d settle for even 5% the first year, preferably with more cuts to follow each subsequent year.

Why is Judicial Watch doing this? The government should be all over it

It takes a private sector to investigate the government now... And I bet the IRS is investigating them right back

Agree. I’m not optimistic that the Republicans would clean up this mess. They like big government too. Just another regime unwilling to take on Fedzilla.

I can’t believe a Court is going to let the IRS boss them around?

Were I her lawayer, I'd tell the Congress and the courts to go to hell too, as nothing is going to come from this, no matter how we all huff and puff.

This is exactly what I’ve been talking about. Our government is ROTTEN, from the head down. And unless we take it upon our hands to straighten this problem, or we’ll wind up like any BANANA REPUBLIC.

I started to file my taxes in March but I wasn’t sure if I had already filed in January and I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time.

“Duplicates” are just their excuse for removing anything that is incriminating.

Based on that, I’d imagine they’ll end up claiming that they had every email in triplicate.

It takes a private sector to investigate the government now...

****************
Few people know that the inspector general is not an outside body. It is an INTERNAL organization that is subject to political pressures. I believe that many of the people who work in those offices do try to root out problems but agencies don’t want their dirty laundry exposed, especially at the national level. So, while perform a useful service, their effectiveness is geared toward lower level problems not high profile ones. In effect, they are constrained by political considerations.

The GAO on the other hand is congress’s watchdog. That’s the investigative weapon that needs to be all over this mess.

Lerner will be saved anyway. King Obama will get another term because of civil unrest. And even if the King doesn't make it, Hillary will keep Lerner safe. Nothing seems to be able to stop this corrupt communists machine. Certainly not the GOP, they are as corrupt.

Most of them have no purpose. That's what we have states for. Shut em down.

The court should demand the emails as they are. Its not that many really. Judicial Watch would be happy to have a small team of people sort them out in a day or two.

You’re absolutely right — this is just a delaying tactic so that the agency can “sanitize” the emails.
