The American dream is dead, but I will bring it back: Donald Trump announces for President

Donald Trump is running for president. The multi-billionaire announced his presidential plans today from his namesake tower in New York City. Trump, 69, was introduced by his daughter Ivanka as he formally declared his 2016 intentions, descending down an escalator with wife Melania to speak to the gathered crowd. In his remarks he attacked the Obama administration on everything from immigration and terrorism to Obamacare and the job market as he promised to bring back the American dream. He also released his financial information, revealing a net worth of $8.7billion.

'We need somebody that literally will take this country and make it great again. We can do that,' said Trump. I will be the greatest jobs president God ever created 'Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again.'

As for what he could do for the country, Trump said he would be the 'greatest jobs president God ever created.' He then added; 'The fact is, the American Dream is dead - but if I win, I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before.'

As for Obamacare, Trump called the program a 'disaster.' 'ObamaCare must be repealed and replaced with something far superior and at far less cost,' he said in his remarks.

Trump also put much of the focus of his speech on the issue of immigration.

The fact is, the American Dream is dead - but if I win, I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before. 'It is way past time to build a massive wall to secure our southern border - and nobody can build a bigger and better wall than Donald Trump,' said Trump.

Did you watch the announcement? I suspect that Trump's real serious. It was a heavy-hitting take-no-prisoners speech. He brought up most of the issues that bother us, and was convincing about how he's the person to bring those issues around. And something unusual in Trump...he looked a bit nervous, but still confident.

I suspect that Trump's bigger-than-life personality might be the Hail Mary pass the US needs to shake things up.

I'm not committed to any candidate anymore, but sure am glad Trump's in it.

I own several Donald Trump dress shirts. They cost me $20 a piece at Burlington Coat Factory. They’re made in Bangladesh, where they work even cheaper than they do in China.

Trumps talks the talk, but, fortunately for my finances, he does not walk the walk.

He put his name on my balance statement!!

Plus, his speech kind of reminded me of Mussolini. A lot of references to himself.

I’d like to see him spend every penny on the race and pound the rest of the field into the sand.

He probably doesn’t have a chance in hell of winning but I’d like to see it to see DC have a new A-hole torn before we finally disappear into the night.

I don’t think there is a chance in hell of anyone being able to return this country to its former greatness but I’d like to see it not go out in a total whimper of capitulation.

I watch him regularly on Fox...

Don’t trust him, but he TALKS a good game. He can be refreshingly right on a bunch of issues....issues that the GOP hacks dance around.

I want Cruz.....but I’ll keep my ears open to him and whomever else runs.
Most except Cruz and possibly Walker are pretty much dead to me. I will listen to a fresh voice.....even though I think he benefits from crony capitalism. He being pragmatic about such things to benefit his corporations.

As with all of these political candidates, who I treat based on their positions and actions on issues, Trump will be treated the same: his positions and actions on issues.

So that makes him right on a majority of issues that really matter... so what is wrong with voting for him?

I have and have had several people working for me that I didn’t like in the least bit but I’d hire them again because they are what I needed at the time.

I’d vote for Trump just for the entrainment value. Might as well go down laughing. Sad isn’t it?

Remember while Trump CAN build stuff bigger and better, he tends to NOT build stuff self sustaining. Anybody looked at Trump Taj lately?
