SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) Televangelist Joel Osteen was preaching tolerance on a visit to San Francisco on Monday.
Osteen said his ministry is about uplifting people and letting people find their own journey.
Osteens acceptance of the LGBT community puts him at odds with some of his fellow Christian teleevangelists such as Franklin Graham.

Who gets to define what we tolerate and do not tolerate, Joel?
You?
False Prophet!!!!
I agree that Christians should be tolerant. They should not, however, call sin good. Respect: OK. Approval: no dice.
He will still be selling snake oil as he stands in the fire of HELL! Their is a special place in Hell for people who deceive old folks out of there savings and promise heaven on earth.
He has a special weight of judgment awaiting him.
I have tolerance for any sinner who repents.
But I have no tolerance for those that wish to declare sinful behavior good.
Well you answered my question. Have never really watched the guy and was gonna ask what my fellow Freepers thought of him. That was kind of my knee-jerk reaction but I found him hideously dull and didn’t stay with it.
lol Thanks for the heads up. Seriously.
Hey, kids! Can you say False Prophet? I knew you could!
It seems to be claim fringe apostates are Christians day.
On a thread a while ago an author was claiming Rob Bell is a popular evangelical.
Didn’t Osteen provide an invocation at the inauguration of Houston’s lesbian mayor—the same one who had her minions demand that pastors turn over copies of their sermons to the city?
Why, yes he did:
And yes they did:

If I’m not mistaken, “Pastor” Osteen was strangely silent during that controversy.
With liberals tolerance is a one way street. Everyone MUST have tolerance for them but they are not required to reciprocate.
Jesus was tolerant. In John 8 a whore is brought to him asking him to confirm the law of Moses that she should be stoned. His answer was, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.”
He showed tolerance, compassion, and mercy toward the woman, but he also told her to “go and sin no more.” That’s the message that Joel Osteen failed to get across.
Soulless, feelgood pseudo-Christianity.
yep
I look at this thing, in this manner:
IF!! you are to be a christian, as defined by the book, with all the references to what Paul wrote in Romans, i.e., ‘you once WERE’, then do it.
Otherwise, you are an embodiment of that cinema preacher Elmer Gantry, and are just as fake, period.
That includes that primate presently in The White House, with his ‘have no future’ speechiness.
What does the word “tolerance” being thrown around everywhere mean without context.
Should would “tolerate” child molesters?
How about rapists?
There was a great article today on FR by a doctor who ripped apart the case for transgenders. Read it if you get a chance. In some places a doctor can lose his license for suggesting that a person who wants to be transgender get therapy.
PING!
Yeah, Joel Osteen is a joke...but let’s not kid ourselves: this “news” article by KPIX isn’t really news...you get one or two quotes from him, and this is considered the entirety of what he said?
Give me a break.
This isn’t news, it is propaganda.
This is completely consistent with his “Feel Good” Christianity, where the only requirement is to be nice to everyone and then God will give you a couple hundred thousand to pay off your mortgage.
OHHHH I was thinking of thattt
