Budget cuts to the IRS are hampering the agencys efforts to uncover tax cheats, an agency watchdog said Wednesday, and more trims are on the way under legislation approved by a GOP-controlled House panel.
IRS budget cuts are hurting tax collections because there are fewer agents chasing delinquent taxpayers, according to a report released Wednesday by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. The IRS budget has been cut by $1.2 billion since 2010.
The House Appropriations Committee approved IRS cuts of $900 million more on Wednesday on a party-line vote.

Who needs the stinkin’ IRS? Cut their budget ten-fold. While keeping our dollars our’s, payback from the POSCIC for the xxx number of expensive vacations taken to parts unknown. Interesting how their staff seems to be so much more apt in achieving results than WTP’s staff. The entire population of DC should be wearing orange from behind bars (and not the bars with mirrors behind them!!)
OK, cut them some more.
NO mention of how Obama is using the IRS to enforce his priorities. Like that doesn’t impact their mission or anything.
Mailroom to boardroom — Fire them all.
Awww, Poor federal union workers!!
Just keep cutting that budget. I love it. I have not received a letter from the IRS demanding some new bogus tax penalty on my 2008 return in 6 mos. They send those letters out like a fishing expedition. Then when your accountant shows that its a bogus demand they go back to square one and start over. That stuff seems to be drying up.
Add to that his racism and the fruits thereof.
