Ted Cruz: Democrats using Charleston as ‘excuse’ to take away gun rights
Washington Post ^ | June 19, 2015 | Katie Zezima

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said Friday that Democrats are using the shooting deaths of nine people in a Charleston, S.C., African American church as an "excuse" to try to roll back gun rights.

"It’s sad to see the Democrats take a horrific crime and try to use it as an excuse not to go after people with serious mental illness or people who are repeat felons or criminals but rather try to use it as an excuse to take away the Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens," Cruz told reporters after a town hall event here.

"Those are altogether different issues and we need to focus on protecting our Bill of Rights and also on keeping everyone safe."

Yes, Ted, democraps exploit the sadness of others. So what’s new about that? Even the people they exploit can’t see they’re being exploited, that’s why the democraps exploit them so openly.

How many people die of mass shootings every year? Much less than 100.

40,000 Americans die in car accidents every year, 2 million per year of cancer.

Even with news media massive coverage of every mass shooting egging on mentally unstable copy cats mass shootings are still a statistically insignificant event in a country of 330 million people. 99.9999999999% of American gun owners have never been mass shooters but the news media cherry picks these mass shootings the news media create (copy cats) to take away all of our gun rights.

We all play into the media brainwashing by talking about this as if it were news and not just a media agenda event .We don’t call the media out on what they are doing and we talk like this is a common event or issue. it’s not it’s marxist propaganda

It's "Fill-In-The-Blank" time again.

Stating the obvious. I've always liked his firm stance on the 2nd Amendment.

Ted Cruz Nails It On the 2nd Amendment and Constitution
“When it comes to Constitutional rights, what matters is what the Bill of Rights says. It doesn’t matter what might be popular at the moment,” said Cruz.

snip...Despite the massive support for the bill, Cruz stood firm and voted against it.

” ...but rather try to use it as an excuse to take away the Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens,”

They might strike the recognition of the right from the Constitution yet the right remains. Ink on paper never amounts to a guarantee any government agent, or fellow citizen for that matter, will respect a human right. In the event that written acknowledgement is removed I offer the following quote, “Gentlemen, prepare to defend yourselves”, or live as slaves.

Cruz: Obama Using Sandy Hook Murders to ‘Promote Agenda’

Itis saddening to see the President today, once again, try to takeadvantage of this tragic murder to promote an agenda that will donothing to stop violent crime, but will undermine the constitutionalrights of all law-abiding Americans.

Just those two incidents and the consistent attitude of Democrats/Obama ought to show people that gun control is an agenda item and not a practical item.

I can post countless articles where this call for action comes and it's almost always after a shooting takes place.

"I’ll tell you it’s reminiscent of Rahm Emanuel who said you never let a good crisis go to waste," Cruz said.

A reporter for The Huffington Post asked Cruz why it has been "difficult" for Republicans to "acknowledge that the attack was racially driven."

Cruz said he disagreed with the premise of the question.

"It appears to be racially driven from what was reported that this deranged man said and a racial hate crime is horrific. And any murder is horrific," Cruz said. "I don’t think we should be using this question to try to divide people and to try to seek partisan advantage. I think we should be praying for those who lost loved ones."

Get real. Just because we disagree with Cruz on trade doesn't mean he's what you stated.
