The biggest surprise to me is that Jeb still calls himself a republican. He has “evolved” to pretty much all the democrat positions. He could switch parties and not skip a beat.
It’s the Republican primary voters who have “evolved” too into the liberal camp, and Jebbie knows this. He’s giving red meat to the GOP liberals like Nelson Rockefeller once did.
We don’t elect presidents anymore. We elect pimps.
It's not just Jeb. Most of the Republican Party has moved in the same direction. Today's mainstream Republicans adopt the positions of mainstream Democrats from 20 years ago, while today's mainstream Democrats adopt the position of yesteryear's fringe radical left. Boehner and McConnell are probably no more conservative than Tip O'Neill.

He is a Progressive Republican, which is only a slight difference from a Progressive Democrat but there is a difference.
This the Europeanization of American politics. In Europe, both sides are Socialist because Socialist is assumed to be the only way to govern. So you have the Right, which is Nationalist Socialist (not necessary National Socialist, by any measure) and the Left is Globalist Socialist.
In the “new normal” for America, both sides are Progressive, but you have the Corporatist Progressives, which are the Republican, and you have the Communist Progresssives, which are the Democrats.
The only difference is, “who do you want your master to be?” For the CorpProgs, it is the multinationals and banks who will be your master. For the CommProgs, the government will be your master and they will rent you to the multinationals and banks.
Then why does Fox News fall all over themselves defending Bush against the more conservative candidates?
