Pope Francis has said people who make weapons or invest in arms industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christians.
"If you trust only men you have lost," he said to applause during a speech about war, money and politics.
"It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn't it?"
Francis also spoke about bloodshed in the Second World War, saying: "The great powers had the pictures of the railway lines that brought the trains to the concentration camps like Auschwitz to kill Jews, Christians, homosexuals, everybody.
"Why didn't they bomb (the railway lines)?"
He also decried the deaths of Christians in Russian gulags under the Stalin dictatorship, which followed the war.
Discussing World War One, he spoke of "the great tragedy of Armenia" but did not use the word "genocide".
Francis reiterated his view that conflicts in the world today are tantamount to "a Third World War in segments".

According to Cornelius a Lapide, Thomas Aquinas once called on Pope Innocent II when the latter was counting out a large sum of money. You see, Thomas, said the Pope, the church can no longer say, Silver and gold have I none. True, holy father, was the reply; neither can she now say, Rise and walk.
Reagan teamed up with Pope John Paul II to defeat evil in the world,
so it makes sense that Obama would team up with Frank
to usher in a new era of evil and oppression.
This might even be the final era of such.
This from the head of the organization that brought us the Inquisition.
They still own how many of those instruments of torture? The buildings the wonderful deeds were performed in? The property they stole, the ill gotten gains of the “Holy Roman Church”? They still profit from the investments made with them and the rents and such they receive.
No offense to Catholics, but the position held by the current Pope is not the one held by Peter. They lost that claim about 2000 years ago..
And this pope may not be Christian. Liberation Theology is not a Christian concept.
Weapons makers: the pope is not a Christian.
Neither are Popes who worship at the altar of Global Warming.
Simplicio Bergoglio: material or formal?
He really needs to put a sock in it. But he won’t, until he is looked at as a laughingstock, and universally ignored.
His successor will have a lot of work to do to restore order and respect to the papacy.
Were the people who made the bombs unChristian?
Is the Pope Catholic? I'm not sure about this one.
The Inquisition was part of a successful, centuries-long effort to drive the Mohammedans out of Spain. Its purpose was to find "conversos,," i.e., Mohammedan and Jewish sympathizers who had falsely converted to Catholicism to prevent expulsion from Spain. This is something that should be more comprehensible to us today, in comparison to the pre-9/11 era.
The Inquisition was a model of juridical fairness for its time. Compare the recently discovered trial records from the Inquisition to the contemporaneous witch-trials in Europe.
You can watch the 1994 BBC special, "The Myth of the Spanish Inquisition" for free on YouTube or read about it here.
“Very weird. This pope was highly though of by the general public then all of sudden hes taken a left turn over the cliff like hes possessed.”
Whatever your religious beliefs, PRAY FOR HIM.
Yes, that’s probably the only question.
The Poop is rivaling Biden in the “wisdom” category.
The author called him a dope....”not just a leftist but a dope.”
How do you talk against bombs one minute, and plead for bombs the next?
Could he be...loco?
The Pope lies. End of story.
I can’t find the quote where he actually says that people involved in the manufacture of weapons cannot call themselves Christians. Did he really say that or is the media making things up again?
Pope`s that think they are infallible, or Pope`s that play down abortion and homosexuality are serving the Devil
Growing up in my home as a child, we refereed to part of the turkey as the Pope`s nose...aww those were the days
