Is anyone else troubled, at the tendency of liberals to judge certain historic figures by the criteria of 21st century political.correctness, as opposed to the standards of the world they lived in???

Always.
Hiroshima comes to mind.

The measure now is not accomplishment but demographic.

Had a brief chat on Breitbart with one person.
I was idly wondering how soon would the SJWs want to replace Mt. Rushmore with the new faces of 21st Century America.
Our speculations ended that Lincoln and Roosevelt would stay (both are leftists’ heroes), SJWs will replace the other two with one Black and one woman. And the two you-know-who’s.

Its like Mongolia deciding to hate Genghis Khan because of all the conquering. Nope, not going to happen.

[American Indians] have neither the intelligence, the industry, the moral habits, nor the desire of improvement which are essential to any favorable change in their condition. Established in the midst of another and a superior race, and without appreciating the causes of their inferiority or seeking to control them, they must necessarily yield to the force of circumstances and ere long disappear. Jackson was correct. Indian cultures were stone-age in all senses of the word. They would, and did, disappear in the face of modernity. The 19th Century did not have the quant, late 20th century idea that cultures must (or even could be) preserved in amber, like museum artifacts.

Not particularly troubling per se. It's not like I didn't know "liberals" were fools until they started doing this. Infuriating, maybe.

yes, but it’s because they are mentally still children. they never really grow out of the “if i can’t have my way i’m going to throw a temper tantrum” phase that’s familiar to parents with 3 year olds.
gimme a cookie or i’m going to stamp my feet and cry!
25 years later...
change the face on the currency to a lesbian transgendered communist or i’m going to go online and write a blog where i metaphorically stamp my feet and cry!
it’s the same behavior.
