Austria Car Attack – Random Act of Violence or Planned Terrorist Attack?

The bodies on the streets of Graz, Austria weren’t even cold before police moved to reassure the public they had only witnessed a random act of violence by a mentally ill killer yesterday, but the attack has all the hallmarks of an emerging form of terror.

There were three deaths and 34 other injuries yesterday as the driver of a large family car sped though the main shopping areas of Graz at speeds witnesses have claimed to be as high as 90 miles an hour. The dead were a 28-year-old Austrian man, a 25-year-old woman and tragically, a four-year-old boy.

Waitin' for the lyin' kings comment. Oh, never mind no firearm was used. So, was the vehicle in question full auto? Was there a nazi flag bumper sticker? Did they driver leave a manifesto? Nah, some nut bag who managed to pass a background check and get a license to drive.

Saw the news and some details while watching the Formula One race that was just down the road a bit. Many of the teams/crews/support and media were staying in Graz over the weekend.

Another thing the article didn’t mention was that the “28-year-old Austrian man” who was killed was actually another Bosnian Muslim.
