The Republican party and conservatives will be stronger once they rid themselves of the hate, racism, and bigotry associated with the Confederate flag. Clinging to it is absolutely indefensible. Democrats learned that years ago, time for Republicans and Conservatives to put substance to our not being, even symbolically, the party of hate, racism, and bigotry by also getting rid of the flag. As a Republican and conservative I will be quite happy to not have to explain away those that can’t realize the indefensibility of defending the flag and splitting hairs over that that means.
