In Kennedy’s patronizing text stating (and I paraphrase), “this in no way prevents religious people from being religious.”
Kennedy said that we can still “teach” and “advocate” religion.
Roberts’ point was that the 1st Amendment codifies our right to EXERCISE our religion.
The 5 black-robed tyrants today in this case essentially rewrote the 1st Amendment in such a way that this decision says we do NOT have the freedom to EXERCISE our religion, only advocate and teach.
You can be sure the homonazis will go to the most conservative churches, ask to be married there, will be denied, and they will sue.
The next round will say that no institution has the right to discriminate against same-sex marriage, that the churches do not have the right to EXERCISE those decisions.
Yes, they can advocate and teach, but when the homonazis come a-knockin’, you’d better bend over and grab your ankles.
