Say what!? Gay marriage is going to be served up, front and center.
June 28, 2015 NYT: The Next Fight for Gay Rights: Bias in Jobs and Housing ~~Exhilarated by the Supreme Courts endorsement of same-sex marriage, gay rights leaders have turned their sights to what they see as the next big battle: obtaining federal, state and local legal protections in employment, housing, commerce and other arenas, just like those barring discrimination based on race, religion, sex and national origin.~~
June 28, 2015 Washington Post: Backers of gay rights pursue protections beyond marriage ~~Fresh off their legal victory, they hope to target discrimination in housing, financial dealings, employment and other areas.~~
Not only that, it would damage the playing field for all the Republican candidates because Walker has now opened the door as never before on the gay marriage issue in the debates. ....
June 27, 2015 Breitbart: Penny Nance: Scott Walkers Push for Marriage Constitutional Amendment Exactly Right
~~Penny Nance, the CEO and president of Concerned Women for America, is praising Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walkers push for a constitutional amendment to protect traditional marriage in the wake of the Supreme Court rulings that same-sex marriage is constitutional.~~
Scott Walker said it right in underscoring two points:1) the only hope the states have of reversing this ruling is a Constitutional Amendment 2) increased conscience protections are all that stands between people of faith and job loss and discrimination, Nance said in a statement provided exclusively to Breitbart News.
Walker, in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling released on Friday, called for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
As a result of this decision, the only alternative left for the American people is to support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to reaffirm the ability of the states to continue to define marriage, Walker said.
Earlier this month, on ABCs This Week, Walker endorsed a Constitutional amendment on marriage.
I personally believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, Walker said in the interview in early June. Walker said that if the Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage nationwide, the only next approach
for those who are supporters of marriage being defined as between one man and one woman is, ultimately, to consider pursuing a constitutional amendment.....
Once the public sees what this rabid dog does, they will beg for a way to put it back in the kennel. This support has been ginned up in relative ignorance.
This SCOTUS decision will not play well in Black or Hispanic communities.
It can ironically be the grace of God that He lets a wild hair to sin play itself out. Because sometimes a people can only learn by making mistakes personally.
Right. Would there have been a Reagan presidency without Roe v. Wade?
Obama came out in favor of gay marriage in 2012, and Romney still only got 17% of the black vote. Gay marriage may not play well in Black or Hispanic communities, but no chance it is going to get them to vote for Republicans.
I wish that were still the case but Obama has bought off too many blacks by attacking police and calling this nation racist, and similarly with Hispanics amnesty and handouts. ,
Its not pretty,
Blacks will follow Obama to HELL (Promoting Common Sense One Person At A Time video)
The majority of which have never read let alone tried to understand the Constitution. And I'm sure a good minority is functionally illiterate.
Like 17-year cicadas, the noise that they make is much greater than their actual significance.
Libs have been saying this for a while.
This early we can't know where the battle lines will be re-drawn on this issue.
I am glad that (for them) many of my relatives didn't live to see this day.
The situation with the Nebraska religious freedom bill was not encouraging.
Exactly. Old Roger there (the author) may think the time for queer marriage is something to celebrate, folks who know why it is important in the overall libtard game plan don’t. I have been telling folks for days to WATCH YURI BEZMENOV. Useful idiots.
As we approach the 4th, celebrating the date enslaved people cast off their chains is a great thing. I think God smiles on that. For a free people to be “nudged” back into them is not a thing to celebrate. Useful idiots.
Kind of proves the notion that Blacks and Hispanics rank much lower on the IQ and common sense scale.
sorry, but FREEBIES will trump everything, and Obama is giving the blacks and Hispanics EVERYTHING they want from OUR Tax Dollars!!
They throw around these poll numbers without the first bit of attribution and and we're supposed to consider them authoritative and meaningful.
"63% in a recent poll.." "according to sources..." "the experts say..." all lead me to disregard all the evidence-free crap that follows up leftist journalism school canards.
Constitutional amendments have become just a way to pretend to do something without actually doing anything. Congress has the power under Article III to limit the court’s jurisdiction in any appeals. They could pass a law requiring all federal courts to get congressional approval before ruling on the constitutionality of any law if they chose to, and include criminal penalties for any judge who tried to do so. They would need both houses and the presidency, or a veto proof majority, but that’s still a lower bar than an amendment.
Non Sequitur. The reason blacks voted for Obama is because he looks kinda black. They overlooked their disagreements on gay marriage. Blacks will vote for Hillary if she promises them reparations and overlook her views on gay marriage. Republicans need not give a rat's patooey about those kinds of blacks.
The important thing that is missing in the article is how to counterattack the butchering of civil marriage. Personally I would give up on civil marriage as suggested by the author but otherwise I disagree with the author. I would do a strategic retreat from civil marriage, but counterattack with marriage. Every church needs to define their position on marriage as between one man and one woman as a first amendment right. Couples getting married must marry in a church, ignore the state and give up any personal benefits of civil marriage.
Walker's job would be to eliminate the personal benefits of civil marriage and turn any benefits that he can back to marriage, ideally through churches.
Seems I recall a recent study by the Heritage Foundation (I *think*) indicating the vast majority of people from south of the Rio have very low IQ scores for generations.. Generations!!
Walker understands that SCOTUS just screwed the American people and is proposing a correction. Who is Roger Simon and why does he think we the are so stupid as to listen to his sorry behind?
97% of "scientists" say that man made globull warming is going to kill us all by 2000... oh wait, 2020, oh wait...it hasn't warmed for 18 years... oh crap, the poll is a lie.
I don't believe for a second that 63% of Americans approve of queers, let alone queer marriage.
