In recognition of the the Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the country and New York City Pride Week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said today he has directed that the lights on One World Trade Center’s 408-foot spire to shine in a rainbow on Sunday night.
In one of his top accomplishments as governor, Cuomo pressed the state Legislature in 2011 to legalize same-sex marriage, making New York the largest state in the nation to do so and leading other states to follow suit.
Cuomo’s statement:
“New York has been a leader in the fight for marriage equality, and today’s Supreme Court decision affirms what we have fought so hard for – that marriage is a fundamental right that should be afforded to everyone, regardless of whom they love.
When we passed the Marriage Equality Act in 2011, New York sent a message to the nation that it was time to end one of society’s greatest inequities, and I am thrilled to see the Court join us on the right side of history. Dividing people into first and second-class citizens is not only wrong, it runs contrary to who we are as a nation.
From Stonewall to Edie Windsor, New Yorkers have always been on the front lines of the fight to ensure equality and fairness for all. Today, we are proud New Yorkers and proud Americans. Today, progress marches on.”
I’m going to stop comparing this country to Sodom and Gomorrah; I think it’s unfair to those two cities.
As far as I know, no queer has tried to have sex with an angel, but if an angel was in the vicinity, I have no doubt it would happen.
Also, this country was dedicated to Christ upon its first founding, so the U.S. has fallen even farther.

Why don’t they have a giant stool being pushed in, it’s a more accurate representation than a rainbow.
It’s easier in a way to appreciate the good when we see the bad attempting to steal it.
Even the “gay” use of the rainbow is a lie... it’s purported to mean “everybody” but they jolly well will never tolerate the bible observant Christian or Jew in that jolly little group.
The rainbow should be replaced with just one color: brown.

Remember when they use to call it the “Freedom tower”? Now it’s “one World trade center” and a giant trophy to Al-Qaeda which is exactly what I expected it would be.
It probably is something more like he gave them a buzz and asked them to, and they gaily said sure... they were pretty much all in the same pocket already.
Well we have more than ample basis for deeming the government to be fools to the hilt now.
