I believe you have hit the nail on the head. I was reading an article not too long ago about a woman who, instead of having a little girl like she really wanted, had a little boy. The article went on to describe how much the woman basically hated that she had a boy instead of a girl because she (the woman) didn’t know how or want to do “boy things”. Then the article moved on to how the little boy wanted to wear some kind of specially decorated training diaper with, I think, Dora The Explorer on them, but they weren’t made to soak up pee in the front of the diaper. Oh how the little boy loved to do more girly things and the mother was so pleased. And all the time I’m reading the article I’m thinking, kids are not stupid, this poor little boy knew you wanted a girl, knew you liked girls better and is just doing what he thinks he needs to do to get your love and approval. Very sad.
