A rock icon, Chris Squire, bassist of "Yes," died at age 67 of leukemia, which was only recently diagnosed.
Yeah, good one from the Going For The One album. They weren’t a main band of mine but I know they were HUGE and Wondrous Stories reminded me a lot of their earlier ‘70’s stuff.
love the Moody’s...have seen them in concert two dozen times since 1978- most recently this past March and they still really sound good...
Sorry to hear of the loss of a great musician.
there was a video on youtube for the longest time which must have since been pulled down..it was a bootleg recording of The Remembering live preformed at Madison Square Garden- it was incredible..
“Yes didnt start playing in the round until 1979- 77 was the Going for the One tour and they used a conventional stage...”
LOL, you are right, I went upstairs to grab my tee shirt, it’s got ‘79 on the front. Great show...
I’ve seen all good people turn their heads each day
So satisfied I’m on my way
I’ve seen all good people turn their heads each day
So satisfied I’m on my way
Take a straight and stronger course
to the corner of your life
Make the white queen run so fast
she hasn’t got time to make you a wife
‘Cause it’s time, it’s time in time with your time
and its news is captured
for the queen to use!
Move me on to any black square
Use me anytime you want
Just remember that the goal
Is for us all to capture all we want
(Move me on to any black square)
Don’t surround yourself with yourself
Move on back two squares
Send an instant karma to me
Initial it with loving care
(Don’t surround yourself)
‘Cause it’s time, it’s time in time with your time
and its news is captured
for the queen to use!

My first concert. Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City, 1976. Saw them twice afterwards.
Yes, even with different personnel, were wonderful to see in concert. I enjoyed a few shows. Rest in peace.
Rolled many on the Close to the Edge album cover.
I was there, too. Took the bus from NJ. $.55. MSG and Central Park when Schaefer beer sponsored it was great.
I saw him play Amazing Grace solo at a Yes reunion concert a bit over 20 years ago.
I guess he wasnt very Fragile if he made it to 67. Most rockers go long before that.
...
He joined the 67 club instead of the 27 club.

That’s the show I saw back in ‘74. I’ll have to go look for it - thanks.
I’ve seen Yes at least 20 times since then, in various incarnations. Caught Jon’s solo act a few times, too.
Think I’ll remember Chris by sparking one and putting the headphones on and listening to “ Heart of the Sunrise.” RIP player.
yup!! the Schaefer Central Park music festival which eventually morphed into the Dr Pepper Central Park music festival..
my dad, NYPD for 23 years, was working in Central Park during that time (mid 70’s to early 80’s) in street crimes...he got to know Ron Delsner, the concert promoter, very well..
i used to sit on the stage for a lot of those concerts in Central Park and i got the best seats for shows at the Garden (i was 10th row for Zeppelin!!)..
you still have a t-shirt from that concert??!! wow!! i had the half sleeved Yes baseball shirt they sold outside the Garden for $7 for years but it finally found its way to the Salvation Army...
i had that show on tape for years...Patrick Moraz on keyboards at that time...
Too funny! We built a little room in the basement of my parents house in Buffalo. We used the cellar windows as our refrigerator. You could only drink that crap ice cold!
