Had a friend who was a fairly senior LEO with the West Division of Stockton PD. He was also an Army reservist.
When he deployed to Iraq he joked that he left a war zone, to go to a war zone, to come back to a war zone...
They were more afraid of Grandmother or Black cops than anything else.
And if a Black cop saw their Grandmother in church on Sunday and reported any malfeasance, oh Lordy!
Those were the good ole days when family and community cared.
