God bless those brave pastors!!
Hubby and I are “gypsies” right now, in search of a new church because we are tired of “pastor on a screen.” But first church we visited yesterday, that pastor avoided the subject and instead told really dumb jokes. We wanted encouragement, not cheap entertainment, so we left.
We then watched “pastor on a screen” at home, streaming him. He was on fire, all right...he preached AGAINST BELIEVERS for speaking out on the ruling. Gave this hapless “YOU are the problem, because you don’t have love.” His face was actually contorted with rage and hatred. Never saw him before, but we at least had confirmation that The Lord did, in fact, call us out of that church.
We then finally screened our former pastor, who is now at a different church, and who was filled with the Spirit as he spoke with love and encouragement, reminding us that we seek a heavenly country.
Pray for all those brave men of God who still speak the truth.
The Church, the Body of Christ, is not dependent on “pastors”, “fathers”, “rabbis”, or “popes”.
We remain together, often as a remnant, because we are one in Christ. Meaning the Lord Jesus Christ and non-other.
The Word of God and the Holy Spirit instruct and guide believers and lovers in Christ in the Way we should go. We follow Him alone.
Dependence on “pastors” and other hired leaders from the congregation has brought many in the Church of Lord Jesus Christ to laziness of belief, laxity of fervent prayer, and blame shifting away from the assigned personal responsibilities of each believer.
May I recommend the Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod? (web site hotlink.) LCMS teaches the Bible and the apostolic faith, and is a very well-developed national organization.
It’s very difficult today finding a church with a Pastor who isn’t in the entertainment industry....
I’ve moved many times in my life with the work I have done so I often had to locate a church for worship. I have noted over the past years so many have lost their focus and become cafe clutches with entertainment venues replacing solid teaching.... And Pastors barely touch on the Salvation message to any degree. It’s more a plug at the end of the show.
