Ted Cruz: ‘Voters Would Be Astonished’ To Know What GOP Senators Say And Do In Private

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz writes in his new book that conservative voters would be “astonished” if they knew what Republican senators were really doing and saying in private meetings on Capitol Hill.

“During my time in the Senate, I’ve been amazed how many senators pose one way in public—as fiscal conservatives or staunch Tea Party supporters, for example—and then in private do little or nothing to advance those principles,” Cruz writes in his new book, “A Time For Truth.”

“Indeed, if transcripts of our Senate lunches were released to the public, I think many voters would be astonished,” the Republican presidential candidate writes.

In the introduction to this book, Cruz specifically criticizes the Republican leadership in the Senate for how they dealt with the issue of raising the debt ceiling in early 2014.

"Zak: You Freepers would not be astonished to know what RINOs say and do in private"

Thanks for mentioning that Zak. Regarding hypocrite senators, Romans 1:30 indicates that unrepentant sinners look for new ways to do evil.

Alberta's Child: "Ted Cruz would be astonished" to know how few conservatives actually think their GOP senators are conservative.

Exactly! I would guess maybe 2. Maybe.

I'm not surprised at all. We have long seen the fruits of their "work" and it isn't pretty.

The District of Corruption has become a foreign city peopled and run by thieves, madmen, and hypocrites.

If we are lucky, the Iranians will screw up when they use their nukes and target it first, thinking it has something to do with America other than pilfering her and f**king her people over.

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Michigan RNC committeeman Dave Agema has said the same thing. Says the RNC platform is a thin coat of paint intended to fool people into voting republican.

Then maybe they shouldn't be writing books that people have to buy, maybe they should take to the Senate floor and tell these stories on the record. Cowards, all of them.
