What is incorrect? 41% of first marriages end in divorce. It jumps to 60% for second marriages ending in divorce.

What I think the real problem with in the first place is real marriages as a percentage of couples to start with.

Statistics on marriage and divorce are compiled on a annual basis. Statisticians compile the number of weddings performed from January 1 to December 31 in a given calendar year. They also compile the number of divorces granted in that same period. That's how they repeatedly come up with their 50% figure.

They do not factor in the marriages that have already been rocking along just fine. The actual divorce rate is much lower.
