That was done in the book/movie, 1984, written by George Orwell. The thought police could see into your apartment and if they saw any behavior, like reading a book, or not doing your exercises, any behavior that was not like the other robot people, they would grab you and destroy your brain.
People ratted on their family members and neighbors if anyone expressed an independent thought. History books were rewritten, too.
We are fast approaching that because we are thinking now about what we write and say, fearful of being called a racist or hater and legal action being taken against us if we own a business or have a job (losing our job because we are called a racist/hater).

It’s a shame he had to include the obscenity. He could easily have used the clinical term. This means I cannot share it on Facebook, as that is all a lot of my friends and family would see. They’d leave the article at that point, missing out on all the excellent and comprehensive arguments he makes about the entire issue. These are arguments I haven’t seen raised before - not even by other libertarians.
I am active on quite a few buy/sell facebook sites. Whenever I see someone who has a rainbow profile selling something I’m clicking on the “see no more posts by this person” option. I may miss a few deals but it has cleaned up my facebook page quite nicely! I’ve also blocked former friends who have unfriended me because I’m a Christian. I don’t need them calling me a bigot, homophobe etc. using a private message to do so, and blocking stops that.
My children and I were talking about what employers might do to them if forced to wear something homosexual and you refuse? Starbucks has a T shirt rainbow color with Pride across the front. They have not made my daughter in law wear it yet, but what if she refuses? What if an employer has pins made with rainbows and his companies name, and you are required to wear them?
If you find out please let me know.

The destruction of the Tenth Amendment was but a small Price to pay to Federalize Gay Marriage.
Tolerance of the Gay Lifestyle wasn’t good enough.
Civil Unions to give Gays the so called Rights under the Law that they felt were denied wasn’t good enough.
States determining if they wanted to make Gay Marriage Legal wasn’t good enough.
Apparently, destroying the Republic did the trick, maybe.
