The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that a Ten Commandments monument placed on State Capitol grounds must be removed because the Oklahoma Constitution bans the use of state property for the benefit of a religion.
The 6-foot-tall (1.8-meter) stone monument, paid for with private money and supported by lawmakers in the socially conservative state, was installed in 2012, prompting complaints that it violated the U.S. Constitution's provisions against government establishment of religion, as well as local laws.
In a 7-2 decision, the court said the placement of the monument violated a section in the state's constitution, which says no public money or property can be used either directly or indirectly for the "benefit, or support of any sect, church, denomination, or system of religion."
Lawmakers have argued that the monument was not serving a religious purpose but was meant to mark a historical event.
This opened the door for other groups, including Satanists and the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, to apply for permission to erect their own monuments on Capitol grounds to mark what they say are historical events.

You and me both.
I don’t think there’s any state in America that has escaped the liberal poison. Too many people remain clueless or simply don’t care.
That being the case, it’s resist, accept, or leave.
Yes.
First they came for the flag - and I did not speak out, because it was just a flag...
“Why is the Star of David on a monument listing the Protestant version of the 10 Commandments?”
The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue, are a set of commandments which the Bible describes as being given to the Israelites by God at biblical Mount Sinai. The Ten Commandments appear twice in the Hebrew Bible, first at Exodus 20:1-17, and then at Deuteronomy 5:4-21
Heaven on earth would be the absence of all those who hate God. Why many choose hell over the wonderful, loving, benevolent Creator is beyond me. Gonna suck for many when their temporary time on earth is done.
The Ten Commandments are hardly a “religion”. They are the word of God.
Zathras will build it if Zathras will help him lift it into place.
Perhaps Zathras will help too.
So sell that portion of the land to a private organization. The land will no longer be owned by the state.
There are ways around this.
By the way, who are the men/women on the OK Supreme court?
If they deny Him before mankind on earth He will deny them of heaven. That’s scares me to no end but Jesus I’m not denying— don’t wanna miss out on heaven. No can do...
Yes, but the Hebrew version of each Commandment are longer. The version we are most familiar with are also known as the Reader’s Digest version. e.g. “Thou shalt not kill” is “Thou shalt not take innocent life.”
Sad day when government tears down righteousness (10 commandments), and lifts up unrighteousness (rainbow-colored White House).
So many of those laws are in law books everywhere. It appears only the first and second really have them upset.
Clean up your language!
Don’t work people on weekends.
No theft.
Take care of your parents in their old age.
Thou shalt not covet which leads to theft.
No perjury.
No adultery.
Though I am certain that was absolutely NOT the intent of the framers of the Oklahoma State Constitution.
What is that little eye thing like we see on our money doing on that monument?
the united States is a nation in decline. When Homosexuality replaces the commandments of basic morality, we are doomed. It’s just that simple. Our nation has rejected God, rejected our parents, rejected morality and rejected responsibility and love. We are on the verge of chaos
Time to Amend the Oklahoma Constitution to remove that offensive bit of text.

It is a joke, but they act all serious about it to make a stupid point. They call themselves Pastafarians.
May you be touched by His noodly appendage.
