I miss the first few years of TV Land.
“Gone With the Wind” is gone with the wind! - Mr. Rhett says, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a d*mn!”
I could care less about the Confederate flag, one way or the other.....but as a serious student of American history from the Revolution to present....I must say that most American people have no clue as to how the Civil War really came about and have very little accurate knowledge of the conflicting armies that fought the war!!!
I can only say that all men and women under arms were Americans and each side believed firmly in their cause...which was not the retention of slavery, but the protection of the American union in the whole. Actually, slavery was a relatively minor dispute except for the radicals on both sides. The great Generals, Grant, Sherman, Lee, Jackson, were American soldiers...most schooled at West Point Military Academy. On either side they fervently believed in the cause they were fighting for.
As such, they should be remembered, honored for their service in leading a vast majority of troops on either side that were neither anti or pro slavery. It is sad for America, that her present sons and daughters have very little understanding of American history as it really was!!! So,,,when I see the “politically correct” America haters, rant and rave, I LMAO & cry at the same time....for they destroy a bit of this great nation with one politically correct action at a time!!! Only the American people can correct this problem. We shall see if they wake up in time to save our nation!!!
They are cowards.
Will they now ban THE HORSE SOLDIERS where the Confederates jump off the train, with flag, and attack the union soldiers in town?
well well going after the Gen x’ers so no more old shows for us guess i will have to switch to METV
An Alinsky style targeted campaign against some of the worst (Modern Family, for instance) might bring some attention to the pulling/banning phenomenon.
Sell it now. In a few years, no one will even remember the show.
Any chance we can turn this thread into a Catherine Bach picture jamboree and hootinanny?
