US employers add 223K jobs; jobless rate falls to 5.3 pct.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. employers added a solid 223,000 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate fell to 5.3 percent, a seven-year low. But wages failed to budge, and other barometers of the job market paint a mixed picture.

The unemployment rate fell from 5.5 percent in May, the Labor Department said Thursday. But the rate fell mostly because many people out of work gave up on their job searches and were no longer counted as unemployed.

“With unemployment so low, there is a risk of an overheated economy. The Fed needs to raise interest rates immediately!”

There’s a clue right there that this is all bullsh**.

Welfare cases aren’t counted in that number

First off, half of all able bodied American of working age aren’t even included in the workforce numbers and second, how many of these added “jobs” were part time. Last month every single one of the net increase of jobs were part time.

I believe the strong delusion has already started, where they believe the lie.

That needs repeating, and yes, it has begun.

This always has been happening on an individual basis since sin came into the world.

Lies multiply when those who invite them indulge that craving. Lies that have no willing audience soon go away.

Stop letting the Obama elite frame this issue. It is not only people who gave up looking for work. Many people are actively seeking work but are not counted because they never qualified for unemployment and/or have exhausted their benefits.

I believe that this has happened in the recent past in that when the initial headline was made about how many more jobs were added to the economy under Dear Leader during a certain timeframe, the Labor Department had to come back and revise those numbers in a downward fashion. Does anybody else here think that this will take place concerning this latest number a few weeks or months down the road?

5% unemployment was considered REALLY BAD under Bush.
And that's before they were lying full scale about that number.

Amen, brother.

For this reason, I will not listen to a particular politician on TV or elsewhere. I even banned him in my car. My friend and I went to a Gospel rally a couple months ago.

He said let’s listen to him so we can figure out what he’s saying. He knows what he does, as well.

I said, no way that pathological liar is allowed. Especially while I’m driving.

Didn’t some economist recently estimate the real unemployment number at 40 something percent?

I’d believe 40 plus percent over these ridiculous numbers.

The feds only count those who go to the governments unemployment office. They also add the Birth/Death model to that (A death or retiree is replaced by another worker - which is no longer happening BTW. People aren't being replaced.)

Study Shows 40 Percent of Unemployed Have Given Up on Finding a Job (New American)...
"While the U.S. Department of Labor continues to tout decreased unemployment rates, the reality is that a significant portion of the unemployed have simply withdrawn from the job market entirely, according to a survey by Express Employment Professionals. According to the survey, 40 percent of the 8.5 million unemployed Americans have given up looking for jobs"

If Bush was so horrible why are there numbers still worse that those when Bush was president? In his 7th year he has provided a better environment than Obama. Even if you accept these top level numbers, no one on the left can explain how Bush was terrible when unemployment was 4.7 and Obama is brilliant when it’s at 5.3.

It is amazing that an AP writer actually said the above and was allowed to get away with it. It can only mean they truly fear the Fed allowing rates to begin to rise. When the Fed does that the house will come crumbling down on national debt and on so many other things.

I'm convinced, personally, that if any republican/conservative wins the presidency that the Fed will instantly ruin that president's economy.

Still with the "jobless rate" charade - no mention of the total number of unemployed.

I actually heard someone refer to the CBO on the air as 'non-partisan' the other day.
