Federal nutrition. There’s an oxymoron for you.

School districts would save millions ... immediately ... per year .... if they closed the cafeteria’s and told everyone to brown bag it.

Wonder how much Michelle’s brilliant idea has cost schools in millions of dollars worth of food thrown in the trash since 2010?

If the individual School Districts don’t sign up for Federal money, they also don’t have to comply with Federal contracting requirements....which make the “contracted products/services” twice as expensive,at a minimum, and drops the quality by at least 50%.

And just in case you are really curious about “how things work”, no, the Feds won’t allow established local food distributors to even bid on those contracts.

Because ...diversity, or something(graft/corruption/nepotism)!

I applaud this school for giving students what they want to eat. Article says students would rather pay more to eat what they like, and I would, too.

Elmbrook High drops out of Federal School Lunch program; foregoes subsidies.

Well, I don’t think that anyone in Elmbrook needs lunch subsidies.
