Business insider ^ | July 1 2015 | Business Insider

Real-estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a boycott of Macy's on Wednesday after the retail company said it would drop Trump's products. Earlier in the day, Macy's said it was snubbing Trump because of the "disparaging characterizations" he made about Mexican immigrants during his campaign launch. Among other things, Trump accused Mexico of sending its "rapists" and drug dealers to the US.

In addition to blasting Macy's in an official statement, Trump attacked Macy's in a series of tweets for being "weak on border security"

You realize that you are helping support the enemy of America’s Constitutional liberties. Macy’s sucks anyway.

No boycotting for me. I don’t care what the political persuasion of my retailer is anymore than I care about the political persuasion of my surgeon, plumber or airline pilot. If they provide me with a product or service that I want I will do business with them.

Hold on now. You're missing the point.

We would boycott Macy's not just because of their "political persuasion".

We would boycott Macy's because they initiate boycotts and won't do business based on our political persuasion.

Big difference.

Wise decision.

The problem with Trump is Trump.

I listened to his interview with Hannity and he gave NO specifics on what he’d do. He says, as do his supporters, we will bring jobs back here...we will make America rich. But no details.

He was a supporter of the Clintons and now claims he is a Conservative?

Trump might have good sound bytes, but that is it.

Much further for me and I can’t think I’ve ever ordered anything from them ever.

Not that it did Gimbel’s any good.

Yes. We have much more to learn about him on healthcare, 2A & Gaystapo. He has donated to D’s over past decade. Maybe that’s the only way to survive in NYC...he knows R’s can’t survive there.

They could not. The Rabid left jumped right on them.

Just like they jumped on NASCAR over the flag.

Unfortunately these institutions know not where the money comes from.

I’m in.

I work near Macy’s — will definitely avoid them. Besides the Trump issue, they celebrated the gay marriage decision.

That donation excuse is just that...and excuse. Adn a bad one at that...

I can understand that logic IF he ONLY donated to New York Democrats...but he donated to other Dems across the country and the Democrat Congressional fund.

The corporate world drives not only amnesty but the GOP As a matter of principal I will not contribute

My own family and myself have given up blood in the physical defense of this nation. Macy’s is telling me that doesn’t matter. They do not care about Mexico or hurt feelings

They are in this for themselves and cheap labor. They have gone so far, the Corporatists, as to have taken over the GOP and as well are stomping on we the people’s constitutional right to have representation in government

And now they trample on not only free speech, which is coming for all of us in a worse way if it doesn’t stop, but shutting down the truth no one except Trump with his billions is able to state

I won’t give them a penny all due respect for the late WH Macy who started out pushing a cart on the street

This is awful

You never give details this early. You state your position on economic and social issues.

This is what you do. If the other candidates cannot state an honest position they are off my list. If they do state their position and I don’t agree with it, they are off my list.

It isn’t rocket science.

True, but if we don't get a handle on illegal immigration soon the rest won't matter anyways.

The difference is that saying “I want to make America rich” without details, doesn’t cut it.

Cruz gives details on how he’d do what he says he will do...

For a business man like Trump, who should always have a plan, his plans are lacking.

He won’t be honest about the transition. If you listen to Donald, it is all about how he is a GREAT business man. How he is rich. How the Democrats are bad and Republicans are bad...not much else.

I think you are new to politics. I don’t have a candidate yet but Trump is the only one not scared to piss off the GOPe and the Left.

That is impressive.
