NASCAR...stay the hell out of politics!!!!!!! You are an auto racing organization. Stay the hell out of our social and political lives! You are starting to sound like Michelle Obama...going to get rid of the hot dogs and fries at the races next? And if I could afford to go to the race this weekend, I’d be wearing my Confederate flag T Shirt!!! NASCAR is a place we go to ESCAPE the political BS. But I used to go to church to escape the gays, who now would sit in the pew with me. I left the church...and it would be easier to leave NASCAR ( I don’t like the chase anyway so this is strike two).

NASCAR made the mistake many churches have made...change what you do to accommodate a larger audience instead of sticking with what you are and making the audience change to you.

How about auto racing without a dose of politics too? NASCAR needs to get free of political considerations and stick to racers, drivers, babes, and cars.

It should be pretty obvious to all by now that these businesses that are trashing Trump are under the Political Correctness THUMB of the Democrat party, America haters, Communists, Marxists, Socialists and liberals.

Every one of these businesses that have attacked Trump are simply financial puppets that are controlled by the government teat that gives them financial milk only if they “swim with the rest of the fish.”

There is no other reason since illegals don’t contribute much to any of the boycotting businesses.

Bad news for you - those ‘72 Monte Carlos weren’t “minimally modified.” In fact most NASCAR “stock” cars have used full tube-frame chassis since about the mid 1960’s, although those early tube frames were covered in body panels that closely resembled the street cars they purported to be.

Big mistake by NASCAR!!! They will come to regret it. I also predict there will be many Confederat Flags present tomorrow evening at Daytona!!! NASCAR has a screw loose!!! IMHO...it is tossing the millions of loyal fans, all across this great nation, that made NASCAR great, under the bus....just so that NASCAR can be politically correct!!!

Interesting how the dominoes get lined up and then get knocked over.

This week, broadcast coverage for NASCAR switched from Fox to NBC for the second half of the NASCAR season.

Just before this happened, NASCAR made a point to step into the public debate and distance itself from the Confederate battle flag.

Then, NBC gets into a spat with Trump and breaks their contract to cover the Miss America pageant.

Now, NASCAR is also distancing itself from Trump.

It might look smart on their marketing plan, but I don't see how these things help NASCAR on its road to recovery.

Most fans I know here haven't gotten over losing Dale Earnhardt. For them, racing's just not the same.

Personally, I've just barely forgiven them for their "Car Of Tomorrow" and I also don't watch NBC just as a matter of general principle.

And then all of this happens.

I thought he was nuts to retire after this season, but Jeff Gordon's getting out at the right time.

Nope...I must have misread the post I was responding to...I think NO brain brian is a dope...was once a dope addict I hear...and nocar has ruin what was once a southern tradition and sport in exchange for free govt subsidies and money just like other lower class bottom feeders in USA take freebees instead of working. also ways like the history of states rights that the Virgina battle flag stood for but never owned one. I have now bought two of them - the va battle and the nc battle. Kurt bush was also screwed over by the PCs...never really liked him that much until then ...but he has always been a heck of a driver. But started wrecking nocar the day his dad had to turn it over due to his health. I work with nocar and Bruton’s tracks before all this but quit in 1997 seeing the beginning of the hand writing on the wall, about the time Gary Nelson was getting fed up with operations.

I reread your remarkes and yes I totally dis agree that most of nocar fans would disagree with trump...just the opposite as you can surmise from the lengthy email I previously responded to you with...but opinions are like *sshol*s...everyone has one!

No problem. I figured you might have misread it. The original article of the post was about Trump’s comments on immigration, and NASCAR’s response to that, and didn’t bring up the Confederate flag. As far as the Confederate flag is concerned, it appears that Trump has voiced his support for South Carolina removing the Confederate flag. Beyond that I don’t know that he has had much to say on the subject. As far as I know, he hasn’t told stores that they shouldn’t sell the flag or that individuals shouldn’t fly it. NASCAR, on the other hand, told their fans that they would prefer that they not bring the flag to their races.
