An Iraqi Russian-made fighter jet accidentally dropped a bomb over a Baghdad neighborhood on Monday, killing at least 12 people on the ground, Iraqi officials said.
The plane — one of several Sukhois used by Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State group — was returning to base when the accident happened.

Back in the 1980’s the Navy was conducting bombing practice on the target island of Kahoolawe off Maui. The A-7E Corsairs rolled in on their target and one had a hung bomb. Seeing it didn't drop, the pilot did a snap roll on departure, the bomb came off and went ballistic. It came down and blew a hole in a sugar cane field on Maui. The Navy paid the owner for the damage and the local paper ran the headline:”Navy Misses Island; Bombs Maui”.
“One of the bombs became stuck because of a technical problem, and during its (the aircraft’s) return to base it fell on three houses in Baghdad Jadida,” security spokesman Brigadier General Saad Maan said in a state
Iraq received Sukhoi Su-25 jets from Russia and Iran last year as it sought to bolster its fledgling air force to combat the Islamic State jihadist group, which overran large parts of the country.
The Su-25s are robust aircraft designed for ground attack missions, but Iraq’s Sukhoi fleet is made up of ageing planes that have seen heavy use as Baghdad’s forces battle to push the jihadists back.

I have FA-18’s flying overhead as they head home from China Lake. I have always wondered if one of them would one day turn my house into matchsticks.
And with an illegal alien Fascist rat bastard infesting the Whitehouse, I’m not convinced it would necessarily be an accident.

Ya know as I was reading that story, I was holding my breath hoping that the pilot didn't have that flag! Thank heavens, he didn't....what would we have done it he did! I breathed a sign of relief knowing that it was only a bomb.
