The U.S. Army is planning to cut more than 40,000 troops over the next two years, a senior U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News Tuesday.
General Martin Dempsey announced at a Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing Tuesday that dwindling resources was a major factor in the decision to cut the number of active troops from 490,000 to 450,000.
In addition to the troop cuts, 17,000 Army civilian employees will be laid off in a plan that is to be formally announced on Thursday.

You know damn well the 40,000 will be selected by determining who will defend the constitution. Soon, we will have a military who will defend the party instead. Some of it is already there.
No doubt welfare entitlements will be increased.
Might this really come, however obliquely, from the WH?

If the general populace is FOR sustained American strength, FOR military superiority and FOR a well-planned defense of our homeland, you know that Obama was, is and will be AGAINST it.
His replacement flunkies, the current perfumed princes, yes-men and wusses in the armed forces Joint Chiefs and in the senior officer class, will go along with the cuts.
Obama's directives to the Army to "cut" is like financially-irresponsible schools cutting sports, bands, clubs and other popular programs just to stick it to the kids and parents grousing about the schools' high-spending and resultant higher taxes.
Obama hates the American public in general....and like a petulant school board, will set about to defund any programs the public views as absolutely necessary or vital to our country's well-being.
