Who knew that Sen. Ted Cruz was a Guinness guy, gets his news from Twitter, and is a huge fan of the fairy tale movie, The Princess Bride?

As the 2016 presidential campaign begins to heat up, more and more media are jumping in to grab their angle of the growing list of candidates on both sides and you can add the Conservative Book Club to that pack.

More known for their weekly best seller list, it has expanded into interviewing the candidates, most of whom have written 2016 books. First up was Cruz, the Texan conservative known for talking Obamacare and the Constitution than kiddie movies.

Editor Christopher N. Malagisi raised substantial issues first, talking about Cruz's own book, A Time for Truth: Reigniting the Miracle of America!, and his presidential bid before turning to color and what the senator likes.

"Many people know of Sen. Cruz – the political figure, but our members would love to get to know a more personal side of Ted Cruz," wrote Malagisi, who produced a list of Cruz likes and the senator's favorite books and shared it with Secrets:

Favorite Movie: The Princess Bride

Favorite TV Show: Criminal Minds

Favorite Food: Cheese

Favorite Drink: Guinness

Favorite Music: George Strait

Favorite US Senator colleague(s): Mike Lee

Where do you get your news from primarily? Twitter

If you could meet any person, dead or alive, who would it be? Reagan, Churchill, Martin Luther King, Jr.

What do you do for fun? Take my daughters to the park

Favorite activity you like to do with your daughters? Ride bikes, swim in the pool, go to the Aquarium

What books, authors, or conservative-themed books, influenced your political philosophy and outlook on life?

The Road Serfdom, by F.A. Hayek

Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand

Free to Choose, by Milton Friedman

Bureaucracy, by Ludwig von Mises

The Law, by Frederic Bastiat

Guinness and Heineken are big time homosexual advocates. No real man would ever drink queer beer.

I used to drink about 10 pints of Guinness at a time... but they went full blown queer for St. Patrick’s day a few years ago.

I gave up Captain Morgan for the same reason and I’m 50% Puerto Rican! Sailor Jerry is better anyway.
