The church needs to recognize that what the state calls marriage is an arrangement wholly under the control of Caesar.
As it stands, Christians are so woven into our godless society, we econoically support our enemies through our patronage of the world.

From day one this has always been about destroying the Catholic Church. If they can do that the rest will fall soon after. Nevertheless the Catholic Church will not fold on gay “marriage.” The question will become which Churches will be able to hold on until sanity comes back. The Catholic Church will weather this storm.

any Church can still perform marriages to their doctrine, providing they don’t perform State sanctioned marriages. Im of the opinion they should drop their tax exempt status, preach political issues from the pulpit, and stop being agents of the State in performing marriages recognized by Americas perverse legal system
That is what the left intends to do, using the sodomite agenda as its best tool to date-they finally found a way to affect the churches-but what they don’t seem to realise is that they are only going to strengthen the true, Bible-believing Christian church. Persecution will purify-as the Bible puts it, it will separate the wheat from the chaff. It will force people to make a stand-the left is not going to allow anyone to avoid taking one, they are reaching into private life, into homes and families, and forcing all who have been able to avoid the issue because it didn’t affect them or anyone in their lives, to make a stand one way or the other. I am not talking about people who were “on the fence” on the issue-I’m talking about people who oppose sodomite “marriage” and the sin of sodomy, who have always opposed it, and opposed it openly in their private lives-these people are not going to be allowed to maintain their private opinion their private lives. If they are active in their faith, attend a church, have children in schools, etc, they will be forced to make their views known publicly, one way or another. The left wants to know, because they need to know the view of every single person in this country in order to punish, one way or another, those who don’t conform to their view. As the Communists used to say, “the personal is political”, and the left will leave no opinion private-and God help those of us who don’t conform. I mean that sincerely, for we will need the full armor of God to fight this battle, the battle to maintain-merely to hold-our Christian faith.

Thanks for the ping. Now that the SCOTUS has created a Constitutional right to same-sex marriage, churches cannot win this fight unless another SCOTUS decision grants them an exception.
They have been like this for over a generation. But I have never seen things move so fast as the past 6 years.

Churches can count on government persecution here. This can be said with certainty, because it is already going ahead full steam in Canada.
Their radicals swore blind that their kangaroo courts would never, ever persecute churches. And those promises were as empty as any comparison with “fairness” that might be found on those courts.
Granted, they are firm believers in all forms of censorship and oppression, and are more than willing to take on anyone who fails their political correctness litmus test. But the oppressors and tyrants in America are chomping at their bit to do the same.
I see this coming at all faith-based organizations, not just houses of worship, that refuse to service this demographic.
A former roommate of mine, a clinical social worker, works at a religious (Jewish) family service. She has so far managed to circumvent gay clientele & the pressure from insurance companies, as well as government agencies who fund her place of employment.
A sane gay client (oxymoron?) would prefer a specialist among their demographic, or at least someone sympathetic. But these people are out for blood, which is particularly sickening. Their motives are purely hostile & vengeful.
