It has begun...
Finally the Confederate flag has become a hateful rag. People are happy, racism has been defeated. Oh happy day. Isn’t that a wonderful way to end both black and white racism just ban the flag. (sarc)
Idiots. All they’ve done is put Dylann Roof in the history books to be immortalized.
As I posted on another thread, I had to run down to the Kroger store in Appomattox today. I was in the CVS, and I noticed their display of Civil War merchandise was gone. They kept a few shelves of mugs, tees, paperweights, etc.
The woman behind the counter said they received a call from corporate to remove it because it showed the Confederate flag.
The store is next door to a historical park, and those items were souvenirs.
I disagree with that sentiment..
That POS will only be remembers for trying to start a race war that was beaten down by his victims.
However the left wing radicals would have been somewhat successful in changing that result, by using the flag as a cattle prod to stir up more people with hate and it would have been at least marginally effective.
For SC to defend the flag after the guilt by association ploy was played and seemed to be effective, would have placed them on the side of the POS...Dylan Root.
Sometimes in life there is wisdom in not doing what would be the right thing under different circumstances.
Initially, I too was angry about the caving in to the radicals and race baiters. But today after much reflection, I have come to a different conclusion that I just wrote about to you and to others.
There will be a better time to assert the flag’s significance and true meaning. But not today.
Just what I would expect from CVS.

CVS is not even worth the rust on my zipper.
The Confederate flag is going UP in some other places... What an insult to our heritage.

Something else I wanted to say and it’s a good thread to say it on.
We are beginning to engage in something much bigger and more important than what people have termed “The Culture War.”
There will be skirmish after skirmish, and the ones we take on from this point, need to be considered carefully because we cannot afford to lose any of them.
Just as a group of freedom fighters, you have to consider what you may lose or gain in every battle.
If the KKK had not wrapped themselves in what is called the “Confederate Flag” we would be looking at a totally different outcome here.
But they did, and nobody stopped them from doing it.
It’s not the battle we need to be fighting right now..and it can wait for a better opportunity should one come up..and I think it probably will..

Find another place to visit this summer. That is if you can afford to go anywhere this summer.
