President Trump' May Not Be So Far-Fetched - And the Polls Scare the Establishment to death
Fox News ^ | July 10, 2015 | Geoff Earle

WASHINGTON — Republicans who started off viewing Donald Trump as an amusing sideshow are starting to fret that the real-estate billionaire is becoming the main event.

Since he defied skeptics and launched his presidential bid last month, Trump has rocketed in the polls, dominated media coverage and helped steer the debate on issues.

“I don’t know that he even knows how far he takes this,” former New York GOP Rep. Thomas Reynolds, who is close to GOP candidate and ex-Gov. George Pataki, told The Post. “He has the wherewithal . . . He has put together a pretty wholesale ground force in New Hampshire, and that has to be taken seriously.”

I don’t like any of them that much. but Trump is the worst. he’s a Manchurian candidate.

So we should forget everything Trump claims, and pretend those issues don't exist...Just go back to being led along by the media, RNC and Jeb Bush???

I can’t remember what the protest was, maybe it was over Sheriff Joe, (that Sheriff Joe himself is appearing with Trump is a credit to Trump; again, not saying I’m a Trump-backer, it is what it is), but Brown Berets showed up, they looked a bit menacing.

With Trump, obviously, some folks are getting peeved at him, in a big way.

if he runs I will vote for him.

He is running. If you live in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina or Nevada you will get to vote for him if you want to. Other states it will depend if he hangs on.

funny thing about that Nick, it seems every four years these same “smarter than us” types in the Republican Establishment go crawling to Trump hoping to win his endorsement.

Now they all a scared to death of him...

I agree and to all who are saying he’s faking this

Trump is a showman. No doubt about it. We've all seen him blow things up in the media, then let them fizzle. Remember his threats over Barky's birth certificate?

I'm not naive enough to believe that he won't do it again. None of us knows how far he'll take this, but at least at this point, he seems to be firmly committed, and so does the political class. They're coming unglued over it.

If they believe him, why shouldn't we?

GOOD FRIKKIN GRIEF, PEOPLE. GET A GRIP.

He's not a candidate for president, he's a mouthpiece for the millions the GOPe left behind.

Embrace him for what he is rather than what you want.

Meaning the left etc. realizes they can take one of their own people, have him say a few nonsense phrases that are inflammatory, and enough conservatives will ignore everything about that person and follow him like a lemming.

I don't buy that...The people rising up to support Trump don't follow Bush...There is nothing for the Democrats to gain by planting Trump out there...

In fact, it would be more detrimental to the Democrats to do that...There are tremendous amounts of conservative Democrats who sit out their elections who will rise up to support Trump as well...I'm sure the DNC is not too happy about Trump waking those people up from their deep sleep...

>"What Trump has done over the course of just a week, is akin to moving an iceberg with a rowboat. The man has literally turned the entire political establishment on its head, and is driving the national conversation and the attention of a whole continent."

I agree with you. It's amazing but it also shows that the establishment has a glass jaw and they know it.

You make some very strong points. One that I would add is that Trump is a businessman. He understands that in business, the politics is different from liberal vs. conservative, and he has had to engage people that we will find distasteful in order to succeed.

The fact that he is standing firm while his businesses are taking a lot of hits this past week is very interesting. Presidential politics is real rough business. The fact that he has put himself out there to the detriment of his private businesses tells me a lot about where his heart is. He is a patriot and like you, I am listening very carefully.

He won’t be able to clean house

Whaddya all want to bet none of these FR Trump bashers are for Ted Cruz either?

Cruz has stood up for Trump. And that’s good enough for me.

How could nix Jeb and Rubio and support Trump. They may be RINOs, but they still have done more things conservative than Trump has. Examine his history. He has nothing to offer.

For me it's not about conservatives and rinos...It's about the Constitution and the Sovereignty of America...Outside of Trump and possibly Cruz, they are all anti-America, anti-sovereignty globalist one worlders...

If not Trump or Cruz, it doesn't matter who gets in there whether it be Bush or Hillary...The position of the Republican Congress ought to be enough to prove that to anyone...

Who are you supporting? Why not pick a true conservative?

All those who hated Romney for his flip flops shouldn’t be drooling over Trump
