If doctors are allowed to surgically change the bodies of people who want to live as the opposite sex, shouldn’t therapists be allowed to help change the minds of people who want to be attracted to the opposite sex? Not according to the homosexual lobby, the powerful Southern Poverty Law Center, and a likeminded judge, they’re not.
A New Jersey-based organization called JONAH, “Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing,” has found this out the hard way. JONAH offers what is known as “reparative therapy,” which seeks to help people struggling with unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction (SSA). Unfortunately for people with unwanted SSA, however, those providing such services are unwanted by the homosexual lobby. And this fact was punctuated June 25 — a day before the Supreme Court’s infamous faux-marriage ruling — when a jury found that JONAH had supposedly violated the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
JONAH’s mission statement makes clear that theirs is a service only for those who genuinely want to experience normal sexual desire and also states, "Through psychological and spiritual counseling, peer support, and self-empowerment, JONAH seeks to reunify families, to heal the wounds surrounding homosexuality, and to provide hope..."

Like the old joke we heard when we were young about the man who went to his psychiatrist because he could not decide if he was a teepee or a wigwam. The psychiatrist responded, "Relax, you're two tents [too tense]"
Political correctness "groupthink" is forcing western civilization to call evil good and good evil. A transgender person is mentally ill. They do not need mutilation, they need mental/spiritual help! Just like a person hearing voices or thinking black helicopters are following them needs mental help, not a lobotomy or their eyes and ears removed.
Science and the Bible tell us that a person cannot change their sex/gender, regardless of whether it is accepted by society and the law. But what happens when a society caters to a pathology instead of treating it? Here is what happens; Kids given drugs/treatments to prepare them for sex changes they do not even understand, people mutilating themselves in ways that will many times lead to their suicide (transgenders 25X more likely to commit suicide).
The transgender mental illness does not disappear when the mutilation occurs because the individual rarely fits their "sick" desired image. As a result, transgender mortality rates are 51% higher than the general population, according to the American Psychological Association.
There’s nothing shameful about having a mental illness. If someone has a form of mental illness, they go to a church or therapist and get help. Just as if they break their leg, they go to a doctor to get it fixed. The Bible says that Jesus came to heal us and delivery us from our destructions (Psalms 107:20).
But what about people who encourage the mentally ill to permanently disfigure themselves instead of working through their issues with spiritual/mental health professionals? What about family members who are enablers and medical professionals who do harm?

They are concerned (and with good reason) that their basic premise is refuted every time people are cured of homosexual desires.
So how do you change physiological response to stimuli? Aversion therapy? Every time a guy sees a phallic symbol, he gets an electric shock? If that works, they might try it on pedophiles. Otherwise, I can’t will myself to get turned on by the sight of another guy’s hairy ass, so I doubt a homo could do the opposite. Most of the “cured” homos I’ve read about relapsed rather quickly.
Absent that or medication — you’d have to use therapy which unwinds the grooming and recruiting process that led to their sexual maladjustment.
Ha! Wait until the Jews face up to gays’ hysterical opposition to circumcision. A couple of years ago San Francisco tried to outlaw it but the Nazi-like anti-Semitic propaganda got even the liberals upset. That surely won’t happen a second time.

You can change your mind about things if you want to. It is nice if you get help.
We are human beings and have that ability.
Changing your mind is somewhat easier than changing autonomic, physiological responses. See also fight-or-flight, pupillary response, and even digestion. Sexual arousal is among these.
No, sexual arousal is definitely an act of will. it is not autonomic. I spent 20 years hovering just on the outskirts of the homosexual community and saw more than my fair share of normal heterosexual men choose to become gay (mainly over fear of and rejection by women), choose to become attracted to men and choose to engage in sex with men to such an extent that, eventually, many of them were no longer attracted to women.
I don’t want to get too graphic here, but even men who never saw themselves as straight have to spend a lot of time training themselves psychologically to start performing the acts that more “experienced” men find enjoyable (no elaboration necessary). Of course they don’t think of it as training and it happens gradually over many years, but training it is.
Sexual attraction is a learned response, and you can see that in the changing standards of beauty... many men would say today that they could never find a woman attractive with a full growth of leg and underarm hair, but women didn’t start shaving until the 1920s and mankind seemed to reproduce just fine before that. I can’t stand being in a room with someone who doesn’t bathe and I certainly wouldn’t want to sleep with her, but the reek of a sweaty, unwashed woman was not only tolerated but considered quite arousing in Victorian England.

The autonomic nervous system controls blood pressure, heart and breathing rates ... urination, defecation, sexual response, and other processes.
That’s nice. Regardless, the evidence is clear that arousal can be trained.

Astronauts re-train ALL of their autonomic physiological responses to adapt to weightlessness, multiple G-forces, changing circadian cycles and other stressors.
I'm not saying everyone can do this; I'm not saying it's easy. And of course, there are hardwired limits.
However, when it comes to sexual *behavior*, yes this can change. It often changes by the repeated assertion of individual decision, without any formal therapeutic intervention at all. And when it comes to the more internal matters --- ideation, fantasy, arousal patterns and the like --- yes, even these are more fluid than recent LGBT ideology has been willing to admit.
Although this, too, may be changing. I have seen indications that LGBT ideology is even now shifting gears away from "born that way" to segue into "try it, you'll like it."
This sort of crap should be shot down before it even gets beyond the discussion stage, but it will probably become law.
If someone wants to attempt therapy to rid themselves of same sex attraction, what business is it of anyone else’s? How is it so different than therapy to accomplish any other desired behavioral change of an individual?
Many victims of child molestation have been trained to be homosexual.
It does sound pretty stupid.
But I have 2 questions:
1. Is it against the law to write/publish a book on this subject?
2. Is it against the law to ask a therapist for help on this subject?
