Donald Trump is meeting with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in Manhattan on Wednesday, though he claimed in an interview on MSNBC that he does not know why.
“Ted Cruz called me. And I don’t know why I’m meeting him, to be honest, but I do have respect for him,” Trump said on “Morning Joe” in a wide-ranging interview in which the Republican presidential contender commented on issues foreign, domestic and everything in between.
“I respect the fact that along with a couple of others, he came out and he came out very strongly and agreed with what I said on illegal immigration. And he came out very strongly and he came out early, and I respect that. I like him,” he added.

“Well, they didn’t read The Art of the Deal. Most people did; they didn’t,” he said. “I have seen the deal. I’ve seen it broken down in every newspaper you can imagine, and I think I know the deal quite well,” he added, when pressed about whether he had read the deal himself.
Trump also had harsh words for the political media discussing his first month on the campaign trail.
One thing he has learned is “how dishonest … some of the political media” is, in contrast to the financial journalists with whom he normally interacts.
“They don’t want to print the truth. They don’t want to say what you said. They don’t want to say what you mean. They know what you said, they know what you mean, and they put it in totally different words. I (snip)

Any of the other GOP candidates get elected, the 1st thing he will do is assemble GOP-e leadership and ask “ok, what shall we do”— Cruz gets elected, and he’ll tell McConnell and Boehner- “this is what we’re going to do and here’s how we do it.”
Even with the source being Polutico, we will get to find out how well the best candidates can stratagize post meeting.
No surprise, we didn’t see this kind of crap being spewed when Romney met with the GOPe.
And Trump is loving it.

Cruz is positioning himself, as the lone mainstream ally of Trump,to pick up the Trump followers when Trump flames out, as he is very likely to do. It’s smart politics.
Much ado about nothing. So he doesn’t know hwy. He will.
Cruz sees Trump is polling well on the illegals issue.
I’m guessing the meeting has something to do with the upcoming debate.

I think their crap is coming out the other end.
I said the same thing in an earlier post - except I thought it may have been the plan all along. Trump is happily being the megaphone, and, with his connections and name recognition, he’s saying whatever he wants and it’s being reported and bringing the issues to the forefront.
I don’t think he wants to be president.
Trump doesn’t take any meeting before knowing “Why?”.
