Donald Trump’s Follow Up to Previous Statement About Sen. John McCain
Young Conservatives ^ | 07/18/2015 | John S. Roberts

Posted on 07/18/2015 5:35:31 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Earlier, 2016 presidential contender Donald Trump made a very ignorant statement about senator and Vietnam POW John McCain that may have greatly hurt his chances at the White House.

Trump said he favors “people that weren’t captured” in war.

Here’s the Donald’s follow up…

d

There’s no doubt that McCain is a Republican in name only, but I feel Trump lost a good portion of potential voters by disparaging a member of our armed forces.

Donald can say he is “fighting for our Veterans,” and I’m sure he supports them now and would as president also, but this may be hard to walk back.

Thoughts?

I was responding to this:

Trump is and ha been all over the map...he is essentially a man saying anything.
I think we are watching a prolonged shark jump

it’s inconceivable that ted cruz has any followers in those two groups.

Are you speaking "Ex Cathedra," or is that just a private proclamation?

I’m not the one supporting a liberal democrat with a bad comb-over.

Trump is not going to be POTUS. The pay cut would be catastrophic.

He wants to be kingmaker, and Cruz will be his king.

the comma didn’t belong inside the quotation marks, mr. english professor/jagoff.

I say that as a cruz admirer, who knows many other cruz admirers

"The fact that he could have been released early but refused to be without the other POWs is what makes him a war hero."

I say this as a USMC vet

No one leaves until we all leave, you just don't leave men behind. It just does not work that way. McCain followed the code, he had honor, hero in my mind has a higher meaning then just doing your duty.

They even wouldn’t let Reagan be Reagan after 1984.

Compare the accomplishments of his second term vs. his first term.

Just on economics/fiscal policy:
The Tax Reform Act of 1986 simplified the tax code, but the simplified tax code was subsequently made more complex and more afflicted with “nudges” and malincentives than ever before.

The 1981 tax and spending cuts, however, were significant. Spending actually decreased in 1982 from 1981. This hadn’t happened in the 30 years prior, and certainly not since then. The spending cuts were so significant, in fact, that the entire political apparatus worked to undo them.

I completely agree with Trump...completely.

I am tired of him calling conservatives “crazies”. I have nothing but disdain for him. I can’t believe Palin was on the same ticket as McCain. He treated her like dirt.

Glad someone is finally calling McCain out in public. It should have happened a long time ago.

You might get your wish woofie. It was supposed to be Bush/Clinton again. Those behind the curtains who own both have no preference. But we’d get 8 more years of that again.

American’s would dropping dead in droves from severe depression. It’s become so bad Americans no longer trust government regardless of which club they belong to. It’s no secret.

Anything could happen, no one knows. But if they somehow concocted a way to silence/eliminate Trump from joining the club debates, stand back and watch the excitement.

Get ready for another correction! I didn't tangle with you on any Romney thread, and if I had your kicking my ass would have been truly noteworthy.

That being said, it's not "stalking" to address the most delusional poster on threads (Trump) that happen to interest me: it's why FreeRepublic exists.

You keep saying that, but there seem to be many FReepers with much more standing than you that don't agree.
